Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice on the following if anyone can help:

Bike racks - can anyone recommend a complete setup/kit to accommodate two (kids) bikes on the roof?

Thank you.

Evening, I've got a Thule roof rack and two bike racks which works really well. For the roof rack you'll need the bars, foot pack and then the adapters for the car. I got wing bar Evo 127, flush rail foot pack 7106, and fitting kit 6021. Then the bike racks (591) slide on and off as needed. It's not cheap at over £400 for the lot but the bikes are sturdy, it's all lockable and you can use the roof rack to haul stuff around or add a roof box later.

I have three MONT BLANC 529 Barracuda racks. One big advantage of them is that the front wheel sits in a gutter which holds the wheel steadily enough that it holds the bike up. This makes fixing the clamps and straps easier because you don't need to hold the bike up with one hand. The clamp is also very easy to use.

The roof bars are this kind but the ones suitable for the Leon, I don't know if these are: LINK

Once the bars and the bike racks are clamped together, you can lift the whole lot off the car in seconds. Undo the four clamps on the rails and lift it all off when not in use. Refitting is just as easy.

I used a 3 bike set up using the Atera Giro AF+ system on my 2015 ST. Can't remember who the roof bars are from as it was all one package:

The Giros have a gutter and steading bar for the downtube with two locking straps for each wheel.
Kids bikes also fit on it.
Never had a problem with it.

It can be for sale as I don't use it anymore.

I use a 'crank' mounted rack as the usual frame/downtube rack's don't fit my bike.
Once on it is secure - but it does take some time to mount bars/racks/bikes.
Also noticeably reduces my MPG having the bikes on my roof. On the plus side I can mount 4x bikes on my roof.

Yes it does, it's just the older product line.

I have Thule 753, Thule 4015 fixings on my Cupra ST.
Hi, I have located some Thule wingbars with 753 (old) but will need the right fixings. You mention 4015 (old) but will 6021 (new) still work with 753?

The old second hand rails I looked at are off an Astra and are 108cm long with footpack 753. However, Thule recommend 118cm rails for the Leon ST so would they fit?

Probably be ok but you wouldn't get the benefit of mounting more towards the edge. It's up to you whether you'd be mounting there anyway, I don't :) but there are plenty of examples of the correct length available with the foot packs separately so don't rush into buying shorter if you don't need to.
