Hi, about 3 days after having 3 tyres changed the ABS and ETS lights have come on, a coincidence i'm sure.
I've checked the fuses and the sensor cabling, all appears good but to fault find further i clearly need to dig into the ABS ECU.
What do i need to do this tho? I haven't the cash for a rosstech device and on Ebay the VAGCOM stuff is really confusing and i'm suspecting not trustworthy.
I was looking at this:

amazon.co.uk/XTOOL-VAG401-SKODA-Engine-Reader/dp/B01G6DU388[/url]

but will it let me get into the Abs sensors etc to narrow the fault down.

Anyone any experience of ABS faults and the kit required to fault find it?

Any advice gratefully welcome.

Not had experience of using any paticular reader, as i have VCDS, but this one looks like it will do the job for £30

The one in your link also seems to be fine for reading ABS codes too, think either will do tbh. You usually find that Airbags and ABS faults are fairly well covered by generic OBD2 codes, as both are obviously a safety issue. It's things like the central locking and aircon where you start needing VCDS from rosstech etc
