If you want to keep your warranty then go with Revo but you will need to keep servicing with dealer then. At least that's what I was told and you would need to speak to them direct for confirmation. It is apparently different between all the dealers................

As far as I know. As REVO is affiliated with SEAT it would be possible. I couldn't confirm for other companies though. You would honestly be better of speaking to them direct with regards to maintenence. In all honesty, I doubt they would do that as they mostly specialise in mapping and not servicing as such. this is why I was told by REVO technician that as long as I serviced the car with my dealer (which is also where REVO is based) they would take over the warranty.

Yeah they could look at the boost log even if when the car goes in the boost is normal. I also know they can look at what speed you were going when the engine failed.

I am servicing at work so no map on the cards for me unfortunately hehehehehehehehe. Dealers are just too dear with their prices and I get discount on parts through the company and can have a mechanic do the work for nothing so huge savings all round for me. Which unfortunately cancels out any possibility of getting a remap done. Which in all honesty I don't mind as this car still goes like stink anyway. Experience has also taught me not to trust anything dealers may tell you. yes, there are genuine honest guys out there but the dodgy ones who will find any excuse not to honor a warranty claim faaaaaar out number the honest ones. I will rather just keep my girl stock and add skirts and spoiler and a few other subtle mods and keep it that way. I will do coilies at some point too as I am not too bothered with suspension warranty hehehehehehehhe. That is just my opinion and if you have the money to risk the warranty on a remap then I say go for it!

I did a little research regarding ECU remaps and warranty.

The first thing that needs to be clarified is that the warranty is given by the factory(i.e. Seat) and NOT the whatever dealer. That means whatever remap you perform you warranty is void.

There are other ways to keep your warranty. This can be achieved in two ways.

1) All dealers have private insurances. They can exploit that and still cover your damage even if it is due to remap. This apply only if you do it on the dealer and he/she agrees with the above plan.

2)This happens in my country which laws are made to be broken dunno if UK garages are willing/can do this. Garages ussually have some connection in dealers/importers, for a few $$$ in the right pockets, they can cover your damage and blame it on something else, this is a bit complicated because the Seat factory might ask for the ECU to be sent over there for examination, so its a bit relative what will happen.

The conclusion is that you will NEVER be coverd by Seat factory if you flash your ECU, there are ways tho to do it , as someone from the tuning scene told me tuning is for people with nerves of steel.

All sort of stuff can happen maybe due to remap or maybe it was ment to happen. Everybody must take the decision for them selves, and be willing to pay the consequenses if they ever arise.

To answer your initial question a decent custom stage 1 with good peripherals is safe for this car. Revo is also a good choise, but bare in mind it plays a great role how you drive your car and not so much the remap.

I second that. If you're gonna map your car and drive like an idiot you will no doubt damage something and that is a genuine reality.
