Don't want earache after a 15-min motorway journey. A wee bit of meaty, low-end 'thrumm' at idle is OK but a cacophony of snarling and crackling at anything over 2500rpm is not.

So, which do you recommend - Milltek, Cobra, Blueflame or ...?

Ta :)

You’ll probably want a resonated version if you want it reasonably quiet.
You don’t say what car you’re driving so hard to give input. Budget and if turbo back or just cat back. Would help us give you some pointers.
As a rule miltec is quieter than the cobras either resonated or non.
Non res just means the middle silencer is removed. Gives a sportier noise.

Sounds like you need a milltek. I went for non res cat back and found the soundtrack to be perfect. Quiet on normal driving but sounds good when you boot it.
