have done a search but people symptoms are different than mine

went out the other night on a "private road" to see what my car was made of, was in 5th gear going past 4.5k so you can imagine the speed i was going

anway, all was well, boost was good, felt nice, then when slowing down my traction control light came on and wouldnt go off??? no power was affected, no limp mode was caused and no error was on the chip? weird i no!
took it for another run and done the same, upon restarting the car tho the light goes off and stays off unless i take the tcs system off (which is normal again), car drives as normal, plugged my mates vagcom into it and nothing?? all is well

not really too fussed as it is "VER VERY" rare i wouldnt ever go that speed again in a hurry, just wondering what the hell traction control had to do with doing a high speed run?

very confused?????? hope someone can shed some light????

not too sure to be honest mate, it was a mate that done the vagcom stuff, he's pretty good with it, im crap with it, going to speak to him at dinner so il find out what exactly he scanned

dont think its a abs fault as the light would have stayed on wouldnt it? (at a guess) , my new brakes seem fine though, no braking problems at all, i wasnt braking when the light came oneither, just slowing down with my foot off the loud pedal

few peeps seem to be saying abs, will get my mate to check it out tonight, should that show up on vagcom??

is it expensive to fix if its the abs sensor?

Yeah, it will show up on a FC scan.

Many people 'appear' to be good with the software, but in reality - have no idea at all. (otherwise me might have spotted that a TC fault was not held in the engine control ecu)

equally, are you some kind of dimwit for deliverately driving at well past the speed limit knowing your car has a fault?

have a look, take the wheel off and have a look at the plug behind the disc, can come loose, snap, break off water ingress etc (you have one on both sides dont forget ;) )

fault may show up in the abs controller rather than main fault pull up

i had a weired on too, in third at low RPM and booted over some bumpy tarmac with the TCS off and then it turned itself on and the low fuel noise came on but beeped at me rather than continuous. Had a full tank so but the noise was different. I stopped and couldnt turn the TCS off again. parked up at my mates, come back an hour or so later and all was fine. hasnt done it since.

I dont know what the TCS light is linked to. all i can think of is that at high speed, slight bumps or anything could set it off. Computers getting confused.

I thought the TCS light was linked to the MAF?

I had it come on once when I had the Revo trial, high gear, low speed, high load, but it was fine once it was turned off and re-started.

true true, he might not know much at all, i know where your coming from their, tried to phone him at dinner but he never answered, left him a message tho
he didnt have it plugged in long to be honest, about 20mins, he said he was just scanning for fault codes but found nothing ? which to me doesnt make sence if the light came on? which blocks shall i get him to scan tonight if i get hold of him? (no doubt i will)

when the light was on and i took it for another run i only took it to motorway speed, very slowly at first to see if anything was wrong, and nothing appeared to be wrong, so took it up slowly, only boosted once to see if anything was wrong with boost etc .. and as it only being the TC light i just thought their was something up with the TC?? if that makes sence

the light isnt on at the mo, and its running fine, performance and braking ?

going to check out the abs sensor tonight, if it is that, how come it only appears to fault at speed? only done it the other night ? never since? and never previous?

amazingly it's also linked to TCS faults too......

If the MAF was dead, the TCS light is lit, but then it would also log a fault code in the EMU controller.

thinking about it, if the plug had come loose, wouldnt the light say on until it was repaired?

glad to see m0rks back to his old ways after a brief visit to deutschland

iv had a couple lights flash when braking very heavily in the past, scanned and no new faults would be stored, put it down to the car sensors just not liking it
