Just recently had some FK Highsports and fitted them to my Mk3 cupra, and theyre sweet, but recently lowered the car onto 17's and a week later on road to work, a T**T in an X Type overtaking 3 cars on a hill came head to head with me on a blind hill, i was doing around 50mph, he was doing well in excess of 80mph and it was either hit eachother head on at a combined 130mph or run off the road into a small grass verge, unfortunately, the grass verge wasn't as welcoming to my shiney Cupra, gearbox hit the kerb and dumped its oil over the road, smashed main diff gear out of the bottom of the box and locked all drive up to the front wheels, then i continued into a rather large steep ditch!!This happened at 6.20am on wednesday, after 5 tow/recovery vehicles turning up to recover me, all went away to no avail as it was either too low to get on the ramps, too low profile tyres to put on a suspended tow or they just couldn't be arsed as it was lashing it down with rain, in the end, a very good recovery company localish to me (Frankerbrook Garage Breakdown Recovery) sent a chap out with a flat bed and literally dragged my car out the ditch with a winch and just dragged it onto his lorry (A lot of jamming up, shearing and snapping noises were occuring at this point and im wincing at the side of the road) :-( After that ive got it to my local seat garage at 5pm, (10 and a half hours later)!!!!!!! anyway, the cars unscaithed bodywork, wheels, suspension, but the gearbox and diff is wrecked and i think it may need a new clutch aswell, i have no money, no car and an exspensive holiday in may!!! As i stated WHY 'O' WHY does things always happen at the worse times!! I tell you what aswell, its a bit scary going into a ditch in a cupra thats as low and stiff as owt at 50/60mph!!! LOL Any idea on costs for this repair as Seat havent got back to me yet and i wanna prepare myself for the worse!! Cheers
David, didnt actually see him step out of his fiesta, but he didn't sound the sharpest tool in the box like you said..
