hi. im nick i curently own a clio 182 cup. (i hate it)it handels crap, gets no looks & i think its slow. in the very near future i will be changing my car either to a megane sport, focus st or a leon cupra. ive always liked the beefy look of the leon trouble is ther aint that many round my way to look at or even go & see on a forcourt. i prefer the mk1 especialy as the mk2 is now out it should be a bit cheaper hopfully.lol. can any one tell me what they are like to live with, reliability, as an everyday car, trackday toy, long distance & on the twisties also a rough fuel economy would be very helpfull. cheers all. nick.;)

I am picking my LCR up at the weekend. I have driven loads and they are just great fun. They are a little cheaper these days but are still high but you do get a lot for your money.

I can't say much for the others you mentioned but I was looking bewteen the scoob, LCR, CTR (only briefly) and focus.

I think the best allrounder for VFM, fun, speed, looks, MPG is the LCR. Maybe I am biased because I am buying one but hey. I know what you mean there are not a lot around some areas. I am having to drive miles to get mine.

i had a lcr before my focus rs i own now and have to say it is a good car, however i did find the lcr a little too easy going for my liking compared to the focus rs i have now, this is more hardcore and you feel part of the drive, depends what you like really a car you can really get involved in or something that is quick and smooth..(lcr)

i have my rcs to put on top of that aswell mate.:D

i think its that my old cars were set up perfect to why i think the rcs is poor handling. & i aint spending no money on modifing it with coilovers ect as i am serius about gettin rid of it.

the lcr is a great car, fast and smooth but it doesnt feel anywhere near as connected to the road as a focus (i've just sold my focus to get the lcr). if handling is what you're looking for then i'd say the focus everytime. i havnt driven an lcr with arb's etc. so i dont know how much difference that stuff makes if you fit it.

the lcr looks better in my opinion and can be attained far more cheaply but i reckon if it was a straight choice between the lcr and an rs im afraid i'd have to go with the rs.

Focus RS > LCR. Imo, much rarer, also. Plus it has mental parts as standard. Quaife ATB, anyone?

I know they were made in limited numbers but I see a lot of them in Cheshire . A friend had an FRS for a while and it was a nice bit of kit. The only faults I found with it were that it had a lot of torque steer for a 212bhp car and that it was a little wild at speed on less than perfect roads.

I guess the other problem you're going to find is buying one that hasn't been modified. I'm all for modding but I prefer to be the one doing it.

For the money I don't think you can do much better than an LCR IMO.
