Why would water be coming in from underneath the dashboard?

That's one way of describing it! You'd have thought that by the time they started using the mark 4 Golf chassis for SEAT cars they'd have realised the door panels were a bit G*Y as F**K as you put it, and done something different. But I guess it's taken up to ten years for most cars to show problems.

End of the day, it's not worth messing about trying to find which door is leaking -- just seal all 4 doors to ensure the job is done, because at some point all 4 doors WILL need doing!

do them all, if its only one leaking now it wil be then all come next year.
and if you do get a puddle in the footwell its a nightmare drying it out.

I know that, the front foot well is dry now but the rear is still squelchy !

Oddly enough, mine is like that, but I'm fairly sure it's my front doors that are leaking! And I don't remember my drive being on a slope...

I think I've managed to soak that up, I've turned the sun newspaper for the last 5 days into a home made sponge

I have the same problem two weeks ago, check if the tap of the pollen filter is well placed
