That's one way of describing it! You'd have thought that by the time they started using the mark 4 Golf chassis for SEAT cars they'd have realised the door panels were a bit G*Y as F**K as you put it, and done something different. But I guess it's taken up to ten years for most cars to show problems.
End of the day, it's not worth messing about trying to find which door is leaking -- just seal all 4 doors to ensure the job is done, because at some point all 4 doors WILL need doing!
