my first thought was Mikes as the ronals was a giveaway..
Reg is different (but is Mikes now wearing a private plate? )

Chris.. if you still had your car, you would have ruined it by now anyway.. your ideas were starting to get cranky.. VERY cranky ;)

may only be 90hp diesel but you can remap them to 125 and alot of torque.

custom code said that stage 2 remap would get 125hp? or would you have to change turbo?

It isnt just with gti's that you get this. I have a similar thing with mine, even though it is only a 1.4.

Ive contemplated selling it on several occasions but couldnt just go through with it. Ive spent money on it making it 'mine' and I would hate to sell it to some 'boyracer' and for it to be round a tree or similar after a few weeks.

So I think it will be a long term project. [B)]

i think the 1.4 isnt as good an engine though. the 2.0 will last forever. my 1.4 reached 120k and sounded like the crank was going to shatter. my 2.0 is on 165k and still runs sweet! but its not worth the mpg.

My 1.4 has just ticked past 124k and its running sweet. No strange noises from anywhere. Its never had to wait for parts though and I had every single receipt from new, even the purchase receipt.
