They'll fit to your standard pistons if you just want to change the rods. But when you do pull the pistons check the wrist pins before puttin the standard pistons back in with new rods as my pins were worn.

For your power/turbo setup i reckon standard pistons and decent rods would be spot on unless you want to go larger bore or have a **** compression.

They will fit the 20mm pistons like the ones you've listed. Pauters are the better choice.

Another option is Intergrated Engineering uprated rods They have a 19mm gudeon pin so you wouldn't need to change your existing pistons.

Phil, how did you find the gudeon pin fitment on your scats? I was going to plump for these due to the great price, but then a few guys in the US have stated that some of the tollerances have been a bit off. Some have found that they needed fine tuning at a machine shop.

yes the 20mm scats will work if you are going to bore to 83mm whic his a near 1.9.

i would no stroke IMO so the scats will be fine, as said above use JE 83mm custom pistons.

you should try speaking to roger at the link below if youve got a big budget then they can help out alot as they done that development work for the fabia WRC which osed the 1.8t as a base engine and turned it to 2.0.

What engine capacity does 82.5 and 83mm pistons take engine too? Also what comprestion ratio do you really want with a 1.9 or 2.0?

This is what i have been told

82.0 mm (1825 cc's), 82.5 mm (1840 cc's), 83.0mm (1870 cc's) 83.5mm (1893 cc's).

right,

what comp ratio do i go for?

thinking of 8.5:1 for high boost but ive been told to think about 9.25:1 then run low boost and obtain high power still!?

what are you guys running and what would you reccomend

think im going for 83mm now :)
