all he put in the listing was

I BOUGHT THIS AROUND FIVE YEARS AGO BUT NEVER GOT ROUND TO USING IT

IT WAS OFF A LESS THAN 30,000 AUDI TT

Just file a complaint with paypal saying the item is not as described. They will get you to go to a garage who must on headed paper confirm that the unit is damagedwhich you will then have to fax to them. That way the seller has no way of getting out of it and will be made to refund you fully. I had to do a claim like that a while ago

Just a quick update sent the seller pics of what the turbo should look like plus what his looked like and he had it confirmed that the turbo he sold was faulty so he's agreed to refund my money 3/4 of march which is good news

thanks to everyone for there comments and help :)

the longer he delays, the more he could say you broke it yourself.

unless he's a skinflint, took the money straight out of paypal & spent it on white lightening.... he should refund you now

thats what im presuming hes done

its all logged on paypal that he said he will refund me and the deadline is the 6th of march as said he can transfer the money into my bank but hes not emailed me back as of yet

the turbo blades are made out of a nimonic metal. these nimonic metals are used in jet turbine blades that can withstand high temps at supra high RPM with no creep.

i would pay to see you try and bend a nimonic metal.

I've seen plenty of bent turbo blades, I guess they're not all made of nimonic alloys

sry my bad, i thought they would have used nimonics these days, i guess that would be overkill. they use this :

For both snubbered and wide chord blades, a conventional fine grain titanium alloy - 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium (Ti6Al4V) is used. It is simple in terms of chemistry, with the aluminium offering strengthening and low density, and the vanadium making hot working of the material easier. It is used for discs and compressor blades up to about 350°C, but excellent superplastic forming and solid state diffusion bonding capabilities make it particularly suitable for the wide chord blade.

adam you need to get out more :p

adam you need to get out more :p

im an engineer, its my job to know things :p especially since im 21 i need to try an absorb as much as i can for better pay!!

to make it even more sad: there are new ways of producing turbine blades (being currently tested on jet engines) where each blade is a single grain, its very impressive to think about and the overall strength gained is huge.
