Wind deflectors - are they worth it?

I’m thinking of putting wind deflectors on my car mainly to reduce wind noise. The one’s I’m looking at getting are the ispeed ones on amazon, however I’ve read some reviews that say they actually create more noise, especially at higher speeds. Has anyone got these fitted on their car?

I think it’s luck of the draw and how well they bed in.

I’ve had them on 3 cars, a 3dr Ibiza, a 5dr Ibiza and Mk3 Leon. No problems on the Ibiza’s at all, but had to take them off the Leon after a week as the wind noise drove me crazy.

Yeah I noticed many reviews said that the lack of clips that come with it means than some don’t fit securely. I was going to buy extra clips so I can put a good amount on each deflector to make they fit good but wasn’t sure if that will reduce wind noise

Had these fitted on a few of my previous cars, as mentioned before I really think they should come with more clips.

First time nstallation is key as the deflectors mould to shape when fitted originally.

Had enough problems with them to not be tempted to but them again.

Note I have always installed these on 3 door with quite big windows, I assume smaller 5 door front doors would have less issues staying put.

Noticed no difference in wind noise.

Just put wind deflectors on my car last night ( hekos ) they are small for the back windows but the 4 clips they provide fixes that. If you have a 3 door then it's alot easier

If your car is suffering from what you consider to be excessive wind noise, maybe you have a faulty door / window seal. If so, then fitting wind deflectors is unlikely to provide a solution.

Hi. I had some ispeed ones and I found the ones for the rear doors didn't fit properly... they were quite loose. Now got some Heko ones.... a lot better fit. You do get a bit of wind noise, but I just turn the radio up

I had Team Heko ones on a previous car (was a 5dr Clio) and found that they caused a slight increase in wind noise. Fit and finish was good though so if you are getting deflectors I would recommend the brand. Held up well for the couple of years I had them.

Because of this I've not looked at them for my Leon (also because I dont think they suit 5dr's as much as 3).

Fitted my Team Heko's from eBay yesterday.

Happy with the way they turned out, although it was a tight fit and I agree they suit 3dr cars better.

I remember I had a set on my EK9 Civic Type R, opened the window and that was the last I seen of the drivers side one

I’ve got Team Heko’s on my 3 door and I’ve found there to be quite an increase in wind noise. I have even bought extra clips to hold them on tighter.

I had some Team Hekos on a Focus MK3 because I wanted the windows down more on the warmer summer days. The problem with this is that we don't get many of those sort of days, so the windows stayed up more often than not. This is where they were a pain as the turbulence they create was very noisy. I'd never bother with them again. They seem to be bought only for a cosmetic reason than a practical reason these days.
