Windage Tray

Well after thinking long and hard about running without one, i have read many horror stories why you should have one.

Ordered from TPS for delivery tomorrow.

How many times have people removed there sumps in the past? Are the threads pretty stable (unless abused) ?

the most awkward and fragile will be the ones into the alloy section by the bell housing.
you will need a ball ended allen key.
when refitting I would loosly fit the sump (you will need to buy the proper sump sealer and not get too carried away with qty you apply) then fit the awkward ones into the bell housing area with the ball ended allen key.. finger tight.. if they dont go in sweet DO NOT FORCE THEM as the insert threads will be ruined. M7 threads!

I have already had the sump off and refitted a new one so im pretty clued up on the process to refit.

Was more concerned on your last point about the threads - they arent likely to strip on me after being taken off for the 2nd time?

Is it straight forward refitting the plastic baffle? should just slide on in?

nope they wont strip on undoing unless they were crossed on install last time.
clean ALL the threads out before refitting. be carefull on the insert ones

the baffle uses the oil pump bolt, so one of these will need to be undone and then the tray installed then done back up

*Slapping self on forehead* Yeah i know the bolt, i took it out to get broken one out and screwed it back in again!

I put the bolts in fine last time after getting them lined up preciesly with a ball end Allen key.

I will be sure to clean all threads

Fitted new one last night.

Hope my Cupra loves me for the amount of new oil she has gone through in two weeks!
