window not working

Hi

just bought a 1998 8v cupra for £450 today- front driver window wont budge- no noise when pressing the butoon, guessing the motor or bad connection on motor?

also need a drivers side black wing mirror surround?
any recommendations for parts

picked the car up today, spoke to the owner he said it was a broken clip in the door somewhere so he has the window jammed up.

anyone know what sort of clip he would be referring to?

theres a clip which holds the window to the runner... could be fixable depending on how much the old owner has been pressing the window switch, most just put a small hole in the runner and add a split pin to stop it from coming out...

Hard to explain but youll see when you remove it
otherwise just replace the mechanism

Im sure someone posted a repair kit that they got from ebay where you get the new clip things to fix the window.

Im sure if you search the thread will be hiding somewhere.
