Windscreen cracked :(

I only took delivery of my Cupra Leon a few months ago but unfortunately, a seemingly innocuous stone hit the windscreen and instantly cracked it. I'm not sure if there's something about these windscreens, or it was simply bad luck, but in the 25+ years I've been driving I've had plenty of stone hit the windscreen on other cars with little to no damage but this instantly cracked.

Anyway, it is what it is.

My insurer pointed me in the direction of National Windscreens who have said due to the type of car it needs to go to them for the day. As I'm new to Cupra/VWAG is there anything I need to think about in advance or should I just let them get on with it?

I would just let them get on with it mate. They will need to recalibrate the forward camera so make sure they can do that or it will be the dealer visit.

Thanks mate. I'll just ensure they can calibrate the camera/sensors before I leave in that case.

They are suppose to use VAG calibration equipment. They were in short supply / price of the equipment, so the cars get taken to designated places with the hardware.

Tracking the wheels and lane assist camera have to be done together (the story) else the car pulls to one side or another... then you weave with lane assist although there are other lane assist calibration settings to reduce weaving (VCDS). Front steering put at dead centre during calibration.

Suppose to be a big deal when you get the car tracking done when you get your tyres changed. Protyres never said anything to me and I don't use Lane Assist so I kept stum. Tyre people so I've read can bypass the full calibration set up with the board if they set the front wheels at dead centre - not VAG guidance. But changing front windscreen they have to get the camera calibrated correctly for lane assist to work correctly.
