Windscreen moulding/trim issue

Hi all!

I’ve just arrived in France for a week’s holiday and on the drive down yesterday noticed my windscreen side seal trim strip (that’s what it’s apparently officially called, ChatGPT tells me ?) is coming loose. Looks like it’s normally kept in place with adhesive, which has failed. The driver side one also looks like it’s starting to detach in places.
Is this common issue? I’m wondering if I should try to get it fixed before the drive back - thinking of potential water ingress etc. something any local garage could do (just allly new adhesive?) or should I be going to a seat/VW specialist?

thanks for any advice!

I'd get it fixed when come back. Probably the heat. You could waste time with dealers out there although any Vag dealer out there should be able to give you advice.

The old trick is towels with rain water if you get Ingress as a stop gap... what people do with their car leaky roofs.

Cheers! Hadn’t thought of the heat as a cause but could well be. Have done some more reading around and doesn’t seem to be too urgent as the windscreen itself should be watertight without those trims. May try secure it with some tape and go to my local garage when back!

That windscreen will be bonded in place, so that trim piece is either decorative or to reduce wind noise etc.
So it should not leak.
Maybe don't use any sticky tape on it just in case that annoys the paintwork, the slipstream when moving should force it down and not force it off?
