Hey guys i took out the new cupra today and it was a bit of love and hate really. I loved the moving lights, seats and the way it drove and handled but the front window was tiny, and the rear view mirror blocked out most of it! Also the dealer told me that the winter pack was no longer an option as they have had loads of problems with the heated seats in the cupra? Is this true?

Ow has it, sorry only went into seat today to pick some bits up and ended up in there for 2 hours with a test drive as well, think im being turned to the mk2!! Shame about the winter pack tho as im trying to convince a family member to chop in his bammer for a new leon and he specifically wants heated seats. Is it that you can’t get them on new orders or anyone who had ordered the pack and hasn’t got there car means its not going to have it?

P.s. feel free to delete this thread if its been mentioned loads of times before

My dealer phoned me today to tell me that this had now been deleted as an option, but all together. No chance of heated washer jets.

On the + side, I may only be looking at a 10 week wait for the car now.

My dealer told me yesterday that it hasnt been pulled altogether but if we want the winter pack now without the heated seats the price would stay the same but he said he will check on the price!!!
He didnt seem to believe us when we said we'd heard it had been pulled off this site..

why oh why isnt Seat UK making sure all dealers across the country sing from the same song sheet??

seen this on the Seat uk site.
Why is a winter pack not available in the UK when it is available on some European models?
As with accessories available in other countries but not in the UK, this package, which includes heated front seats, headlight washer and heated washer nozzle, is not available in the UK as we could not guarantee to purchase an amount that would justify the manufacture for right-hand drive vehicles

Errmmmmm, got this e-mail from Seat Customer Services in reply to a mail that I sent them.

Thank you for your email of 16th March 2007.

After investigating your query I can advise that the Winter Pack is available on the SEAT Leon Cupra. I hope this information is of use to you.

If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me on our Freephone Customer Service line 0500 222222 during our office hours of 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Kind regards

Not sure what to think now!!!

Just someone in customer service who obviously hasn't had the memo. I trust my contact, they are a bit higher up the food chain. But I will drop them a mail again if anything they can educate the customer services.

Appreciate it if you would Z, having said that, I have now spent the money that was for the "Winter Pack" on side skirts instead lol.

10 more weeks!!!

Re: Winter Pack

I have spoken to SEAT UK and can confirm the Cupra does not have heated seats. As follows:

WE can confirm that the Winter Pack is not available on Leon Cupra.

To clarify, there are 3 elements of Winter pack on other Leons that are :

Heated Seats
Heated windscreen washer jets
Headlight washer system

On the Cupra the headlight washer system is standard and the heated seats are not available. We are not offering the heated windscreen washer jets as a separate option.

They also contacting customer services to inform them of the correct information.

Because SEAT (ie the factory in Spain) deem them not available.

SEAT UK are the importer and they have to negotiate with SEAT in Spain about what equipment is standard, and what is optional. Its all about market forces at the end of the day.

For example the Xenon headlight and washer jets are not fitted as standard in Europe. They are optional. In the UK as you kknow they are standard equipment. And SEAT UK would of negotiated this on to the car, hoping it would make it more appealing to buyers.

Got this re-email yesterday from the same person at Seat UK's customer service department;

I write further to my recent email on 19th March 2007.

Please be advised that SEAT UK has just been informed by the Product Technical Department that the SEAT Leon Cupra will not be available with the Winter Pack as SEAT Spain are unable to produce the vehicle with heated seats. As the option is now no longer available, the web site and brochures are currently being amended. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

So, it must of filtered through quickly lol, You must carry some clout Z!!!
