Afternoon guys,

After washing my car last week I noticed when using the wipers that the passenger-side wiper was 'missing' a 50mm wide stretch of water on the windscreen. Looking at the wiper blade, I found that the rubber blade had deformed and was folded in the opposite direction from the rest of the blade - hence the 'missing' part. It seems that when I've put the wiper back onto the screen after cleaning it, the blade has deformed and after some time, has remained in that position.

So, be careful when washing your blades! I didn't do anything different from my usual 'washing the car' procedure, so I don't know what happened.

I went to Halfrauds today and they don't sell blades for the new Leon. Does anyone know where I can get them (apart from the dealers of course) and how much?

Thanks.

I've looked in all the usual places but think dealer is the only place to get them. Told me that they are different prices for left and right, and I cant understand that, but would be interested to know!

You can get them from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk there are two different models to choose from. A Bosch set @ £31.95 or a Valeo set @ £25.75. I got the Valeo set a few months ago and they do the job well. I think the Valeo ones are being fitted by SEAT as when I was out in a test drive in the Cupra the wipers had all the same markings as the Valeo ones that I bought.

The wipers come in a set so you get both the left and right in the package.

Postage is £2.50.
