Wireless phone charging

Can anybody help please
I am gradually getting used to stuff in my new Leon 1.5 FR XL but cannot seem to get my mobile phone to charge in the wireless charging bay, what am I doing wrong?
I do have my phone connected via the connect app and have taken my protective cover off my phone as I thought that was the problem but it still does not seem to be charging as when I put the phone into the slot nothing happens
I must be doing something wrong but what?

Stick with wired charging….

Wireless charging on mine is always hit or miss (90%) miss, and the few times it has worked, the phone got hot enough it was uncomfortable to hold.

Thanks for that and yes read on a few places about it being hit and miss, just ordered the correct type c to type c cable.

What make & model phone is it?

Its a redmi note 9s and I have found out it does not support the wireless technology after all
