Cell signal booster

Hi there. My Leon is coming in December, and I'm curious of one thing. I configured it with "connectivity box" which costed something like 220 eur and it was described like "wireless charging and GSM signal booster".

Now I would really love for the booster to actually boost. My underground parking spot has little to no signal. I once managed to actually answer a call but that was clearly an exception, usually there's simply no signal, the phone displays an E (I guess it's from EDGE) where it usually says 5G autside. Having data connection is also out of the question. I saw some neighbours though, managing to have a weak internet connection, using other providers though.

So, my question for whoever has this option installed: Does it actually works to some degree?

Thanks

I'm unsure how you can boost the digital signals short of a better aerial.
There's noaerial connection to phones nowadays but the car could operate as a WiFi hotspot to your phone.
The other thing is that digital signals are pretty much there or not there with a small area of signal strength where reduced data speeds are seen.

It's not an option available in the UK, GSM signal boosters are not allowed so only euro owners will be about to tell you.

It is an option with the connectivity box, as well as wireless charging it induces a boost to the GSM aerial of the phone, using the car's own GSM aerial to improve the signal power.

I’d steer clear of the wireless pad too. Any length of time on there and my phones have got HOT (as in ‘can’t pick it up cos it’s burning my skin’ hot).

Circling back on this because I picked up the car today.

The bad news first: Unfortunately the GSM signal booster doesn't do magic for me, still no internet on my phone when the car is in the basement parking. Not even with the phone placed on the wireless charging spot. I'm thinking to install a network benchmarking app on my phone to check if the GSM signal booster is doing anything at all. I may get back on this.

However there are also two good news in this area:

- wireless charging works well, phone charges and does not overheat. There's even a nice notification on the screen when the phone is charging. (Didn't charged with cable yet so I don't know if this notification appears also in that scenario)

- car's e-sim which adds internet connectivity to the car seems to work in the basement! Poor quality for data transfer, that's for sure, but definitely better compared to what I get on my phone in the same place(which is zero data connectivity). I can even use Seat Connect app from home and check charging status, start the climatisation and all the other connectivity services in the app.
