SO, after the battery debacle (which I’m pretty sure was ignition left on inadvertently overnight as it’s been fine since)
I took the car back due to an oil ‘leak’ on the gearbox being found on the service.

It was at first thought that it was from a bolt, further investigation today suggests it’s from the back of the gearbox casing, unfortunately to determine cause, further investigation is required, this means the gearbox casing has to come off and then determine whether it’s a gasket/seal failure or weak spot, just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar out of curiosity.
The leak is only very slight (more a weep) but all the same not happy, cars two month out of warranty unfortunately and I’m looking at around a grand or so just to remove and reinstall the casing, but then depending on what they find there’s the cost of parts 🤯🤡

Out of warranty, you say? Are you using a main dealer? If so, can you see if there's a specialist or a trusted mechanic in your area who might be cheaper?

Yeah it might get come to that, I mean there's no problem immediate rush but obviously for peace of mind (if nothing else) I need it done, I also have a long fun down to Kent and Essex next month and I'd rather it was sorted before then, I don't have a lot of experience with local garages so will have to see

Once it's diagnosed, you could always see if there's a goodwill contribution towards the repair from the brand?
