Would these R888's be too wide?...

Just wondering if anyone will know this.

I've been looking at getting R888's for at least the front of my Mk3 Cupra. Would using a 225/45/16 be too wide on a 7x16" wheel? Would prefer to get that size over 195/50/16s that the R888s come in to get as much grip as possible.

Will be used solely for track and 1/4 mile use.

225/45/16 will be fine cupra20 wheel are this size and he has no issues at all

I'm running 225/45/16 on a 7.5" rim and have no real issues, just got some scraping on full lock on the arch liner but nothing major.

Good stuff guys, cheers for that. Cupra20 you running them just on the front or all round? What tyres you running and how do you find them?

running them all round mate, currently got toyo t1r's but wanting to get r888 or the dunlop track tyres, the t1r's are a good tyre better in the dry than the wet though.
