no prob mate, but the problem i´ve mentioned belongs to older models of nokia portfolio - and its common and well known issue. So, maybe its good news for the others.

maybe it depends on change log for concrete FW release.

300.xxx. change log for E51 says there is improvement for AUDI´s BT HF kits (for another VW brands too). Among other, improvemet has came also for BMW.

hmm, I done a LOT of reading up on the N95 8GB not working with the bluetooth as I love the phone, and don't want to change it, but have seriously considered it seeing as the phonebook doesn't load. .

there is a guy who has got his N95 to download to his Audi, using the contact downloader software, so I'm pretty sure it's not the phone, it's the bluetooth module in our cars that need updating. .

I've done everything he says, my phone has the latest firmware version and the contact downloader program and I've tried exactly how he says, as well as other ways (pairing first, then installing and running the program/installing, running then pairing/installing then pairing, then running the program )

NONE of them work, just hangs on "Processing" which looks promising, but after 5 solid minutes and the fact that I wiped my contacts and just kept 5 contacts to minimise upload time, I gave up.

I'm going to SEAT tomorrow to ask about updating the bluetooth module firmware in my FR and fingers crossed it'll work . . . otherwise, I guess we're screwed :(

here's the quote off the site, with the link to the site:

Having just bought a new Audi A6 Le mans 3.0tdi quattro Avant - I was keen to find a solution to this bluetoth/phonebook problem. I too have the Nokia N95 and can confirm that the above link works 100%. Firstly you need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on you PC & phone .. then download the application and save to your pc. With your phone now connected to your pc.. download the saved application to the phone... [ make sure bluetooth is off and not paired to your car ]
Once installed on your phone - go to your car & connect/pair via bluetooth.... go to applications and run the application. It took a couple of minutes "processing " .... then switches to " transferring " ... again a minute or so.... Job Done.. My phone book is now integrated with the car and the MMI.

the BT of the car needs a specific file in the BT communication with the nokia N series that the Nseries doesnt have.

some E series have it like the E 71 that works flawless

there are some modules for vw audi seat and skoda that work they are called premium bt modules they cost around 200 euros and work perfectly with any phone nokia Nseries included they come in the q7 and touareg

so you have 2 options

or wait until nokia releases an update for the Nseries like they did for the Eseries and start supporting the vw bt

or

you buy the premium bt module

They are not able to change firmware in BT module, you have to purchase new one (200 euro for standard and premium is probably more expensive). Modules have a number code ending with one LETTER, the letter says how new or old concrete module is. The code you can find in VAGcom log, or direrct on BT HF kit cover (located under passenger seat)

Im not sure, if premium BT HF kit solves this issue. But the updated phone´s FW can do that (if there is included Audi BT HF kit improvement in change log)

all goes around PBAP (phone book accessible protocol - part of BT technology), which nokia didn´t support in older released FWs. So i think it is phone´s problem !

With other phones (motorola, samsung, etc) works car BT HT kit all correct. So it must be a Nokia issue.

I´ve tried even "Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices" and other possible methods to force phone working, but with no success. Untill the Nokia released last firmware for E51, which has improvement for BT HF kit - for AUDI (so it means probably for all VW brand too)

as i said the is the Nseries which doesnt have that protocol supported, the premium bt module works perfectly fine with any nseries, tested by a friend who has the module and he has a N95 with the first firmware it came with, now it works perfectly fine.

maybe some pressure from us to nokia could release the firmware update you have for your phone to the Nseries.
