The issue is that when I've drove the car I try to open the back doors from the outside and they wont open, but when I press the internal open lock button im then able to open the doors. anyone have any idea what is happening here?

Do you have a solution to this at all? I've seen a video or someone drilling into a part (not sure if the module) and spraying some wd40 into it.
As you've said it works when using the unlock button I would check the settings in the MFD menus for auto unlock. The settings for auto locking when you drive away and the auto unlocking when you take the key out are separate. It could be the car is set to auto lock when you drive away but not unlock again when you stop.
