Drove to brimingham and back yesterday (approx 230 miles). This was my first long drive since i purchased the leon. However i found the following:

Excellent and enjoyful acceleration
:D

Passengers at the front and back found the ride very unconfortable. :(

Can i assume this is due to the stif suspention? Plus outside noise was more then my previous Astra. Shorter journeys not a problem.

I guess these are some of the pros and cons of having the leon.

cant say ive ever found that
i used to drive mine to and from aberdeen every fortnight, about a 700 mile round trip.
passengers seems to fall asleep in mine no matter what
cant say i find it noisy at all

Always thought the leon was a good long distance cruiser, mind you, i drive an R. I'm driving from glasgow-ipswich and back next weekend and the only problems i'll have are keeping my left foot off the gas

why, dont u have a right foot?

last month i drove from stoke to the south of france with three other passengers, all said how comfortable they where and all except myself of coarse at some point fell to sleep so i thought it was quite enough myself.

Interesting feedback.. who really cares about their passengers anyway as long as you are wide awake and comfortable.

well you obviously do or this thread wouldnt exist?

ive done 48000miles in 19 months in mine including trips to europe and cant complain.

I've done a long journey in my LCR and been a passenger in one doing a long journey and can safely say that its a very pleasurable ride and comfortable. The car does crash over big bumps and accelerating hard does move your head back when asleep which will likely to wake you up but apart from that and the stops at fuel stations I couldn't really complain.

Some questions on the suspention!

Ive noticed over the last few months that I can feel every bump in the road!! especially when being passenger.

Will it be caused by the "brushes" on the suspention what ever they are.. or has it always been this way and im just stressed and picky!!

Did you drive an S Class before, i think the Leons a great cruiser too!
for its size and the fact that the cupras and the R's are supposed to be a sporty car i think it drives well on the long trips!

I regularly drive a 800 mile round-trip to Scotland in my LCR. Always find the journey very comfortable, both as the driver and as a passenger.

When carrying passengers in the back they usually comment on how comfy it is.

What I am trying to say is : Could there be a problem with my suspention or even worse my alloys, brakes, tyres or tyre pressure???! I am sure I found it to be v comfy as well but not any more!!

I never get any complaints about comfort, and my model of Leon's got apparently the worst suspension of the series, although it's not lowered.

Sounds like a problem your end ;)

I drove my cupra from Cambridge to Cornwall last year, the seats are not as comfy as the ones in my old Laguna, but they are from uncomfortable.

I have never had any back seat passengers, but their comfort isn`t something i would think about anyway, i don`t and never will have to sit back there.
