any one else had their remap done by RSD..i brought a ibiza cupra with RSD tuning...its 210BHP package which includes intercoller, forge DV valve and TIP.

as ive heard they are abit pricy...

cheers

and the power figures are somewhat overstated.
conservative boost compared to most these days

and yes, I used to have mine as a "210" package form new.. made 188bhp @ best.

Cordobabrendy, already got these mods on there so have to live with it to say...although starting to have the common faults appearing.,. lastest one is overboosting so trying all sorts to get it sorted!

when i first got car, i was getting about 12-15psi(dont quote me on that) and now it boosts to about 10 and then drops to 5 :( had the VAG plugged in and errors showing with temp collant sensor. The VAG guy said the temp switch is sending the car in to limp mode as its not sure of the engine temp so playing safe.

059919501A(temp sender) just fitted a new one to a mates 1.8T octavia 4x4,due to the similar fault codes.£22.37 +VAT

WeeJase....how easy is it to fit...i understand its near the N75 valve and should only take about 10 mins...£25 sounds about right, just hope it fixes the problem. Had the car about 3 months and two of those months have been running limp.

cheers

peice of piddle to fit, hardest part is getting the engine cover back on after :D
its located just under the RHS of the engine,it sits in the coolant hose and is held in by a plastic circlip, you don't even loose any coolant, just make sure you do it on a cold engine

Hmmm. or its an Oettinger feature. mine was exactly the same. many a 5psi limp moment.
12-15psi was its normal range but would never sustain boost like other maps do these days.
I doubt its coolant related, although if its a logged fault, it needs fixing regardless

does sound like two seperate issues ,but if the fault code is there and we know how crap the factory fit coolant sender is.
my mates octavia showed no problems in actual performance but kept logging codes and throwing up warning lights.it drove fine, just annoyed him with the dash lights

I've got the same on mine, doesnt seem to go into limp mode, but periodically when i floor it, it boosts then drops off, then when i let up on the accelerator it goes again.

The RSD conversion is Oettinger Chip, Turbo Intake Pipe, and Milltek Back box mate.
As Bill says, it is a mild boost compared to the likes of Revo, but on mine it seems to hold it quite well.
I know there is much talk around the "210" conversion, and havent heard a report of it making 210 anywhere, but there do seem to be figures ranging betweeen 186 and 196 mostly. I know someone, I think possibly Bill (sorry if its not), had issues with this claim of 210, and it not being produced, and im not sure if it was ever satisfactorilly (sp!) resolved.

No intercooler upgrade, dont even get that on the 240 upgrade.

Even though I was led to believe that the car could not be remapped, ie Revo or CC, because of the chip, I've been told recently, that it can be done!

It was partially resolved by a partial refund, but that was goodwill gesture from Amethyst not RSD who at the time could'nt care less. Note: RSD issue was with one of the 2 directors, who subsequently got booted out by the other (good guy-Danny), who runs RSD to this day & started it originally.

As for "210" claim, it was never a 210bhp package as supplied nor close to on my car, bought new with "210" package on it for £2000 optional extra. For £2k you would expect to get what you paid for, which is why I had issue.

Long time ago... Mine would peak 15psi then plummet down to 8psi as the revs climbed. Not all 1.8t's are created equal, as when I went IHI first, mine was less powerful than Jabba's identical car... I just had mine turned up higher to make up for it.. 5psi limp mode was very common on mine when Oettinger'd

Its a physical chip, no more nails'd in, which is why other tuners dont want to touch them with a barge pole. Potential damage likely to revert the car to std chip to allow reflash, which would render the ecu dead worst case.

Its a risk not many are prepared to take, those who have seen an Oettinger install by RSD that is. I would ask the question of who said they can, that they should look at it first before saying they can.
