engine differences

hello i'm harvey. at the moment i'm driven a ibiza cupra r, but i would like to get it up to 225bhp without chip in it. Does anyone know what the differences are between the ibiza cupra r 180Bhp engine and the leon cupra r 225 bhp. i'm quessing maybe a bigger turbo and different ECU.

Leon cupra R has a k04 turbo, Mk4 Ibiza has a k03s.

the 225bhp leon has ko4 turbo instead of ko3 s turbo like the ibiza cupra uprated injectors ecu and 2 small front mounts. why are you determined not to get it remapped its hidden it would be cheaper and alot less hassle?

shurly you would need to map it anyway as the car isnt a leon so the leon ecu wont work in and ibiza there for the standard ibiza ecu would need the leon map on it therefore its remapped!

there is a mk4 ibiza cupra R it has same engine 180bhp standard just diffrent cupra logos on seats ect, black wheels standard and possibly a few other bits.

there is no ibiza cupra r mk4 they only use the r when they already have a cupra! like the mk3 and with the leons!

That was the original car but SEAT had to drop the R - Could be wrong but thats what I was told, There wouldnt be much point in having a Cupra & an R with the same power. MK3 had 156 & 180

Correct, so in all MK4 Cupra R's donbt exists

As for the question at hand, without a remap/chip etc you cant?

The 225hp Leon hasn't got a fmic but it has 2 smic's


As for the cupra R MK4=>
Seat has decided not to use the name cupra R anymore because.
Cupra = Cup + Racing
Cupra R = Cup + Racing + Racing

So Cupra R became just Cupra and Cupra became FR
Cupra = Cup Racing
FR = Formula Racing (Forra sounds a bit stupid )

cupra = fr cupra R=cupra

if you catch my drift.

same goes for new leon

if i was you get stage 2 on the ibiza cupra R (ko3s turbo) good for 240bhp

my mistake with the cupra r jobby then. just ive seen pics of mk4 cupras with the cupra R logos all over it. so gathered it was a more exspensive option.
