Hi,

Just had the 50k service done on my '03 LCR and the diagnosis is it will need new front pads and discs in 2-3k.

It last had new front pads at 35k (genuine Brembo).

Does anyone know how much OE front discs are and if there are any alternative options for both pads and discs?

I've read reports of Mintex pads wearing well and being considerably cheaper.

Cheers!

:)

Hi,

Never heard that myself

In my experience.....

Stick to Brembo discs and use Ferrodo DS2500 pads Both can be sourced via Badger 5

Be carefull when ordering LCR brake stuff most parts suppliers are ignorant/stupid/careless and end up supplying you with LC stuff

here are some pictures of my brakes

i've just put some ebc red stuff pads and some ebc front discs on last week and the stopping power is wicked they were only £210 for the lot some really cheap compaired to standard parts. not sure in the long term i'll have to wait and see.

Really? For 323x28mm LCR discs? Where from?

Cheers Guys.
I want the compromise I suppose.I don't consider myself to be overly heavy on brakes but do feel that my last set of front pads haven't lasted that long.
If I can get pads that last longer than the Brembos but are as good then great.
I'll check Badger 5

The Ferrodos have superior Bite and feel but won't wear your discs much quicker, also dust elvels are similar to standard pads, of all the pads I tried these were the best.

No wear indicator though, but then again that has been known not to work so no great loss

Cheers Steve.

Any idea on prices? I've just tried to mail Badger5 but it's bounced.

Cheers Bill.

Can you give me a price on front discs too please as I've been told these need replacing too.

as said... LCR spec yea? (323mm * 28mm)

any pics?!

See my last thread in the forum, i've list full details as i've just found a company selling them!

Karlos,

What discs are those?? and what pads are you running?

they are brembo dics and EBC redstuff pads, apparently brembo don't charge any extra for cross-drilled discs over standard jobbies. send alex @ TTS roadsport a pm for a price.
