Surrey darling...
you don't know? yeah women can't drive here it's illegal. +women can't go out in public unescorted by a man. You'll get hassled by religious police if seen out in public during prayer times - it's like a half hour curfew 5 times a day - shops close as well.

But tax-free and petrol is 8p per litre for 95-octane. 91-octane is 5p.

Fair trade I suppose! TBH I'd be more than happy not to let my other half out of the house on her own and ban her from driving if it meant I didn't have to pay tax and had cheep fuel - oh, the hardships!

Not good matt, down to border coach works to get it sorted again?
Gaz

it was saturday morning before i got to look at it in daylight and fortunately the damage is only minor - as ever with these things when it's your pride and joy you tend to fear the worse!

To be fair to her she did put the handbrake on, but only halfway - she has to use both hands to pull it all the way up and didn't bother this time. Lesson learned I think - she feels really bad.

But she feels even worse and embarrassed about the way she reacted without thinking it through!

I shall just keep this one in reserve for next time I'm in trouble with the mrs....

Yawn Yawn,
Another female driver bashing Thread

Many of you sheltered uk drivers should try driving in Dubai! (It is worse than LONDON, at least you can predict what peeps are gonna do!)

2 to 1 male to female population, majority male drivers and trust me your uk driving style goes out the window.....
dont try justifying to me, lack of signalling, lane cutting, high speed weaving and plain ignorance as being a sign on superior male skill behind the wheel of a weapon. not a woman in sight and and they still drive like t@#ts.

I just thank F that it isnt my car i am driving while i am here!

I think the issue should be with Old drivers myself.......dodering along the UK roads oblivious to whats going on around them......spacial awareness.....if everyone was to do a motorbike test and training, their heightened sense of awareness would save a lot of problems on UK roads.........THUMBS UP TO ALL US BIKERS!

Anyway.......enough of this boring "repeated" speak......
Back on thread......
hope you get your car sorted soon. and maybe a gentle i told you so in her ear is in order......(if you explained about leaving it in gear) then run away FAST!

....Yeah I agree... I'm a pretty GOOD female driver (where are all the other outraged females out there??) and possibly better than a lot of blokes and I think helped by the fact that I rode scooters from the age of 16 and still ride a motorbike (occasionally). You certainly learn roadcraft when you ride two wheels, you have to be extremely aware of what other road users are doing and whether they've seen you. You also have to take into account the road surface much more, whether there's gravel on the corner etc. It makes you see detail that you'd probably miss in a car and you gain a kind of sixth sense sometimes. My mum (also a biker) thinks everyone should be made to ride two wheels for at least a month before being allowed to drive a car.

It's also not fair that on a bike there are very strict rules about how powerful a bike you can ride and how old you have to be etc. You are restricted to 30bhp for 2 years unless you're over 25 when you take the test. But you have to take the test on a >30bhp bike to get the full licence, so it teaches you to handle the extra power a bit better. Of course a 30bhp bike is also pretty quick, but it stops new riders people getting on the latest GSXR 1000 and haring off at 170mph into a blind corner!

There's no such rule for cars and any new driver can just get straight into a powerful car and wrap it round a tree, or worse another car. I know there are a lot of idiots out there on two wheels as well but at least they're more likely to kill themselves and not take someone else with them.
