ok, got a 2001 leon cupra (well turbo sport but same difference ) 85k on the clock.
about a week ago my car threw a bit of a strop on the motorway when i had my foot down in 4th. stuttered a bit, CEL came on and into limp home mode we go.
Turns out it was the MAF according to vag-com - ok no worries.
so today, new MAF installed and i am now getting this from VAG-COM
Address 01 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller: 06A 906 032 HN
Component: 1.8L R4/5VT 0002
Coding: 11510
Shop #: WSC 13623
VSSZZZ1MZ2R003841 SEZ7Z0A1200387
2 Faults Found:
16487 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too High
P0103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
P1297 - 35-00 - -
these are the only 2 faults.
if i clear all the codes and start the car, the idle is a bit dodgy and it sounds kinda like it may cut out but no fault codes appear.
try to drive it and its like someone has put kangaroo petrol in it.
takes off like a nutter for about a second with LOADS of boost and then cuts the power right down (i mean like i have hit a wall !) then it comes back on for a second (whiplash ensues) and then cuts out etc etc until it cuts to limp home mode and aside from the lack of power all is well.
if i clear the codes the MAF sensor signal too high sometimes doesn't appear.
also it feels like there is too much fuel going through, (if i rev it standing still it pops and bangs like a b1tch)
have checked that the DV is secure and no obvious holes in the pipes and stuff (or disconnected ) and ensured the new MAF sensor has clean terminals etc same with the plug.
mods are maxflow induction kit, forge 007p and a stainless cat back system.
i am majorly puzzled.
All i can think is maybe there is a small split in a pipe somewhere and when the boost comes on it opens the split and drops the boost off. Is this likely or a common occurence.
please help as i am at a complete loss
