ok i have only been actively looking for around a week, but i am looking for a mk3 tdi 130 sport or fr really does not matter which

anyway originally i was going to get a car loan to get my new car, i talked to my parents about it and they said that they would lend me the money as they have some in a bank account from the sale of my grandma's house

anyway the useless Lincoln dealership does not advertise its stock list which don't help, and the seat site only lists one car in the whole country i would be interested in as i want black and it needs to be under 8k for me to even consider

plus with my parents saying i have to get the car locally for some reason in case there are any problems:blink: , i get the feeling this may turn into a very long search at this rate as i can't see mk4's with the tdi 130 engine in black being common

y u want black so much mate? and I doubt it there not that common of a car to find locally, I had to travel 30 miles to get mine which was lucky.

I drove 150 miles for mine ;)

Are you just looking at dealer cars then?

I take it's this one you have seen?

Vehicle details
Model IBIZA HATCHBACK 3-DOOR
Registration DU52XUV
Year 2003 JAN
Mileage 42500
Price £7,495

i saw a couple when i was looking for an FR bout £7695 was the cheapest i ever saw for 05 with 37000 miles

yeah i meant a mk4:redface:

that one was the one i saw as well

i think the main problem is my parents being a pain and unwilling to budge on the distance issues, makes me wonder if i would be better off declining and going with a bank loan if they will not

other option is to see what the local dealer has and if nothing see if they can do anything, in terms of finding one for me or what have you

i am not looking solely at dealers but there are very few mk4 tdi's locally anyway, plus i would guess the warrenty from a dealers second hand is better than most

your parents won't lend you the money to buy it from far away?

Bank of mum & dad always will have caveats like that......

tis daft though, especially if you don't want a silver ford focus, you'll have to travel.

If you tell your dealer what you want, they might get it in for you

thats what i am hoping, best thing is my parents say that yet my dad got his car from melton mowbary which is about 1hr from where we live

other factor is price, may be a case of i need to spend more to get what i want and i don't know how much my parents would be prepared to lend me. and i doubt i would be looking at maybe even a grand for my mk2 1.4 80k 99 plate, FSH, alloys, cd player and updated speakers on trade in either

if you buy from a big company, then they will generally do any repairs or resolve any problems at there closest branch to you, or as mork says send the car up to the other branch for you in the first place

Not sure you can get any sport's in Black, so FR it is.

You'll have to bargain hard to get an approved used FR TDi for your money - recently SEAT dealers have dumped all but the lowest mileage cars

well millage is not a huge issue, ideally 40k ish but i could probably stretch to 50k

how much would i be looking at for a black fr with that millage on average?

well i am not looking at a dealer specifically, however finding one outside may take some time

says something when i can't find any tdi fr's locally at all within 40 miles of myself, the ways its a going i might as well get a new car

I looked for 4 months mate to find the right one (Sport 130). On one occasion drove from blackpool to huddersfield about 100mles to recieve a call when i reached the end of the guys street tellin me it had gone. I was not in the best of moods.

why?

I don't understand what difference it makes to them?

You're not taking them with you or anything?

It's a Lincolnshire thing trust me. I have experience of this same issue with my girlfriends parents who are Lincolnshire born and bred. You will either have to keep waiting for a local car or work an persuading them to travel.

Is the Grimsby dealership too far away? I can get there in 45 mins from Lincoln after work in rush hour traffic, when I take my Girlfriends Fabia vRS for a service.

The Lincoln dealership has just been taken over so I think they are still getting on their feet hence no decent website.
