They copied you then ;)

Very original Rick. I like the LED Raid ones but the resistor rewiring scares me...Take it you had to do this too.

its not scary at all damo!

it was a BIG headache for me at first being that me and dan were the first with the raid lights, but it was dan or someone else who had a m8 who worked it out... tho i know it was a resistor but i tried 1 ohm ones when i think its a 6 ohm one that you need!

got there in the end tho!

as for rick not needing any, well lucky him lol, but i would hazard a guess this is because MAYBE he has less LEDs, or less powerful ones, i have no idea!

but still, dont let the resistors put you off! let the idea of knowing how hard the lights are to change... as in how easy it is to drop a nut down your wing! this will put you off!

i would say i didnt need any resistors because i used 12v leds whereas the lesser voltage ones are cheaper they would be the ones raid used and wired them in series to make them 12v, i did mine in parallel with all 12v leds ,

thats the only thing i can think of really, but doesnt help you lot with the radi lights

thats sounds possible rich :)... either way as said Raid LED lights NEED resistors... but don't let this put you off if you are reading this... if you can fit the new lights yourself you can easily fit 2 resistors aswell! ;)

yea i think i paid about £160 delivered... me and dan were literally the first two to get hold of a pair in the uk.

BUT THESE ARE DIFFERENT LIGHTS!!!! (http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=SE12L61S&a=i)

look shite... thats ur opinion :)

but as for working shite, the only problem was the 3rd brake light in the spoiler would dimly light up (glow) when the lights were on.... this wasn't a bad problem as the spoiler brake light still got a hell of a lot brighter when you broke!

but anyway, a simple resistor sorts out this problem!

LEDs often have this effect on cars as they are much more efficient and require less power and thus some power often leaks to the spoiler brake light! (i have seen other cars with this problem, and i know you can get problems with LED indicators bulbs too, again a resistor sorts out this problem!)

I like the Raid lights.

But the ones in the link are the crap ones.

You saw them on my car remember:confused: they were not always on:-o

oh right! i thought u were talking about the raid ones, but u meant the ones in the original post!

and i didnt realise it was you chris!... yes i remember seeing those LED lights you had ages ago! i remember you had problems and they did look very chav! :(

luckily you saw the light (even tho they didnt work! ) and changed them in a matter of days!

i didnt realise you were still on scn... i thought you had sold up and moved on or something!

Two things i noticed when i had my RAID lights, other then the glowing 3rd brake light were....

- Diagnostics light flashed on the dash when they were on. Would go off if the lights were turned off.

- More weirdly, when the lights were on, the cruise control would'nt work.

Would the resistor mod sort both these problems??

Dan, fitted them Saturday... i can say.. first one... no the resistor mod fixes this...

the second... you got me worried... I'll gonna check that one tonight... :wtf:

Cool man, do they look good? Lets see some pics :D

I expect the resistor mod fixes the cruise issue to, so don't worry :)

Think about it, turn the lights off, the cruise works, turn them on, the brake light glows, the diag comes on and the cruise stops working. The problems must all be related.

Yep I changed them the next day!

Yep I sold the LOEN and bought an old mans MONDY TDCI 130. I'm still on here every day LOL

I'm now looking for a project Ibiza GTI (too many withdrawal symptoms - MUST.. OWN.. A.. SEAT..:D )

Sorry for off topic:whistle:

RickC, those custom lights looks supreme.

Like a quad-conversion LED style when they are switched-on at night time. Very impressive.

As Dan requested...

See, it's irresponsible threads like this that cause me to spend every penny of my wages on modifications for my vehicle!

Really, you should all be ashamed.
