hopeuve got agood seta tools then mate the vag range does like to use some rare sockets! like the 36mm mulisplined female driveshaft nut for example

of course you need to take the driveshafts out as you will need to release the strut from the steering knuckle but without disconnecting the driveshaft there isnt enough clearance to get the shock out of the knuckle the rears are easy as their is just 3 bolts each side to realease the shocks and tip the bolts arent in the boot for the rear :D it is dead simple but you need all the correct tools hope this helps mate

Undo the driveshaft from the gearbox end, then it's much easier.

I do laugh everytime someone posts up saying it's not orignal. Lets face it every wheel combination has pretty much been done now. Fit what you like best, not what everyone else on a forum tells you to do.

the 8 bolts that hold the driveshafts in arent in your average large tool kit tho(mulisplined male socket). cnt see how 8 bolts and an extra mechanical part in the way is easier ?? but each to their own hey! if you are mechanicly known and have all the tools and come across no problems then you should have it done in a couple of hours but more importantly for free

my work only allowed me 2 hours of ramp time to fit the coilovers to my car after closing hours so i didnt want to take pics and stuff! i could make something up for you if you want with drawings

ive kinda got an idea rash,

3 for the top of the strut, the 1 at the back of the shocky ( can that be a problem? i know on fiesta's and some pug's they would snap/seize up)
Can that happen?

Also whats easy way to open it up the gap?

but if u can do quick doodles go for it

My email is [email protected]

ta mate

there wont be enough play in the steering-knucle to smack the shock out! the lower arm will hold it up too high and you wont have enough room! just strip the whole lot down and do it proper dont cut the corners will take you longer swing me a p.m if you want directions and il send them too you

anyway back on topic are you gonna go for them audi rims them mate

yeah gona go for the audi rims.

set on ebay i was watching went for £280 and was £45 to deliver.

Found a set 30 miles away from me, £250ono. give the lad a call tomorrow for pic's and condition, if tyres are shot will be offering £200.

got my heart set on those wheels now, When i fist saw icecravens i was unsure, my dad was the same( he borrows my car and is funding some of the mods)

now seein them on a silver ibiza there stunning.

Its just im not working at the garage anymore so i have limit to use.

If i hadnt needed to strip the shafts i'd be able to do it at the back door, Will borrow a 2 poster ramp from local garage again.

Whats ideal for the front drop? sumps quite low on the cherry models.

about 50/60?

Also would i need the HnR anti roll bar link's?

Will get coily's next month. cany afford both this month.

how will the ride quality be? want it good but not harsh so i feel every pothole like my mates saxo was.

Was decked on 17's and about 3 spline's down on the back.

i say 50ish at the front and 70+ at the back...

you wont need the HnR anti roll bar links, unless you want them.

if you disconnect the lower arm and the nut and bolt on the bottom of the shock and open the gap with a flat head screwdriver !U MIGHT! be able to knock the shock out of the steering knuckle but just easier to take the shaft out  good luck anyway mate! with respect to how low you can go ive gone to the bottom setting on the rears about 80mm and the front ive gone as low as possibe about 60mm

it can be done on the beezer getting it to sit down at the rear and makes it not look so damn thin and 4X4 if i could i would go lower but im on the last thread :) some cement in the boot should do it!
