engine mods or transplant

hi im new to this place. I have a seat cordoba sx but its the 1.6 sx version. Does anyone now off any places that do engine parts or suggestions for engine transplant? I live in surrey. Was thinking of putting a 2.0 16v in but dont know any place to do it plus i would eed to upgrade braes etc. HELP PLEASE!!!

Would be easier and cheaper to just buy a 2.0 16v SX Cordy mate !!!

Keep an eye on Ebay.... usually plenty cropping up on there. Even with 100k on them, they're fine as long as they've been regularly serviced etc.

One on there last week for £1k.

Why worry about the mileage? You'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between an 80k and a 120k model

anything lower than that will most likely have had the speedo drive disconnected for much of it's life

bargain for £1k.... you won't find anythng better!

I bought one in the same colour for a similair price/milage last year and it ran great until it got written off by some bint !!!

A lot of parts are the same, but the 1.6 has rear drum brakes not discs like the 16v.

TSR Performance in Bridgwater will do a 2.0 16v transplant for you - but you are looking at £4k - which would pay for four of those eBay bargains. Keep searching.

I believe TSR recently went into receivership but I heard that Tim Stiles may be up and running again, though not sure how much has changed.

Or not been driven alot - mines only done 60k

seeming as these are all expensive routes and i love my cordy to bits does anyone know of any parts i can buy for my 1.6 8v engine? Perhaps get it chipped?

Mines only done 39k but it's been a pain in the @rse since day one so must've got a bad one because i know they are very reliable cars.
