I've had my '07 Seat Ibiza TDi Sport (100PS) for 6 months now and I'm wanting to gain some more power.

I want to know what the tuning options are?

I've heard from others that I should be able to achieve something ranging from 120 BHP to 130 BHP from just a remap.

But what should I expect to recieve from say for example: A better free flowing air filter, performace backbox and a remap? Or more expensive still a new larger turbo, bigger injectors, and the mods mentions above?

Basicly what I want to know is, shall I just spend ~£300 and buy a remap or is it worth spending extra?

I'm not fussed about going over 160 BHP as I'm worried about clutch slip and wear.

Thanks for looking

Had this same engine in my old Fabia which was remapped to around 145.

If you are happy with this and dont want over 160bhp then all you need is a remap. :)

So how did your old remapped fabia compare to your new vrs, when that was standard?

So your saying spending ~£300 on a exhaust and filter will give me little gains?

Because thats the kind of thing I want to avoid.

Similar amounts of acceleration, although remapped pd100 had better power delivery that was held until higher up in the rev range.
Mine was the first Fabia tdi that Jabba had done - I actually ran a tuning box occasionally with the remap that gave a few more hps and quite a bit more torque.. and ooh lots of smoke. ;)

standard pd130 gave a good dollop of power lower down and tailed off more quickly than the remapped pd100.

Dont bother with exhaust unless you are going for a full system with a larger downpipe or "mufflerectomy" style system. Looking at +5hp and more torque if you do.
Money would be better spent on a good 2nd hand PD150 turbo and injectors IMO.

Filter + PD160 mod helps keep the smoke down and gives you a touch more.

Some helpful advice there.

Looks like I'll go for a remap and make do with ~140Bhp for now

Does anyone know what turbo is currently fitted to mine and what turbos I should look out for?

You will have a VNT15 style turbo.

Look for a VNT17 from a PD130 or PD150. There are different versions so check it fits before buying.

You can go even bigger than this but I don't know how much power the PD100 is capable of handling.

Its a slippery slope.. :)

I'll see how it goes after just the remap. Then maybe upgrade the turbo and injectors at a later stage.

I think you have a KP39 turbo and if you want to upgrade either use a vnt1749 or vnt1752.

Golisago is right you have the KP39. You can bolt on the 130 ASZ KKBV39 turbo or even better go for a Garrett equivalent from the 130pd asz Golf engine or 150pd ARL golf engine. However if you want my honest opinion, I would just stay with a remap, and filter with 160 intake pipe. You should have spent a little more and got the 130pd engine.

devonmikeyboy do you fancy coming along and having a free go on my old man's new Dyno when he takes custody of it in the very near future.

I take it that you mean details of where and when etc , i will do so and it was going to be sooner than later but the company who was coming to do a demo has let us down on 2 occasions already , and now if this deal doesn't happen next week where going to have to drive all the way up to sunny Scotland to see a different machine although its at less money its a (Das-tec.

But this unit has had some good and bad reviews , so who knows!

It looks like where back on the Dyno Dynamics dyno machine again after the UK distributor has chipped some more cash off the deal , but it looks like we can't stretch to a 4wd unit so i apologize to devonmikeyboy .

Hay what the hell Mikey maybe you have the extra £30,000 we need for one lying around in your back pocket to donated as a sponsor in hour R&D side of the company LOL.
