well i set about fitting front and rear brakes yesterday pm....i thought I'd do one side of the car at a time to save lying in the road so started with front and that was easy...15 mins job done. Then I move onto the rear...what a nightmare..it took me the rest of the afternoon to do one corner!!
after a couple of hours and much swearing I came on here to do a search for some info....and found an old thread where badger bill says "do not attempt the rear without a rewinding tool". I can vouch for that lol
after I eventually got the tool (halfrauds denied they sold such a tool so I had to go down there and proove them wrong..nobs) i got home and then found the caliper piston had come out even more and the winding tool wouldn't fit in there!!!...out came the angle grinder to trim the tool lol
so this thread is just to warn you all to either get a garage to change your rear pads or get the tool before you start the job!!!
It's strange that you can push the front caliper piston back but the rear won't budge and needs to be wound in (clockwise btw)
I'm hoping i won't have any problems doing the other side this morning!
