15k in my FR170, Computer says 40.6, tank average last week was 40.4mpg! 495 miles. Mostly motorway miles 80-85 and spirited A-road driving. I used to get 44 ish from my 150 Tdi Golf.

I just drove 562 miles in my Toledo 130 TDi (34k, 2003). I had to put in 48.5 litres to fill it to the top which works out to be 52.7mpg (on board indicated 55.5mpg). Was very pleased with that as I've only had the car 6 weeks and my last car (volvo s40 t4) used to give me about 27mpg!

I am hoping to get 600 miles out of a full tank one day.....

These are fairly highly tuned engines, ( Vauxhall 2.2 petrol engine = 147bhp), the cars have got heavy. Its a performace car so anything around the mid 30s with town driving is fine by me. These cars are fun to drive and I do not agree we should drive in any other way but within the law, but I feel from some comments about fuel and tyres that 170bhp is not been used.

I use mine.. :lol::lol:

Within the law of course

I dont pay for diesel so the mpg doesnt bother me really, just interested to see how much fuel its going..

Good for you Michael. A few years ago I saw a 70 year + gent driving a Ferrari 360, 10-15mph on the outskirts of town with a tailback behind him. That engine was shouting out "drive me". I hope that we all will have a little spirt in us when we get to that age, and not causing traffic problems.

I'm sure I haven't spotted any mention at all through this thread of wheel sizes and just how much difference this makes! I'm glad that 99% of this thread has been a genuine bunch of guys sharing their findings instead of the usual 'pi**ing contest' that seems to be attached to most other mileage related threads.

Will be intrested when there further details about the removal of the DPF (if possible) and what it will make to mpg and performace.

I am also getting around 40-41mpg on a decent run doing about 75mph and using cruise control mostly. Car has done almost 7k and the mpg has improved from what I was getting when car was under 5k which seems to be on par with other comments I have had from diesel drivers.

I get around 45mpg on a "sensible" run, but around 37-40mpg if I have a bit of fun on my way to work (it's all downhill once you get there so may as well go in with a smile!!!). I can quite easily achieve 45+mpg if I try, but if I wanted pure economy I would have bought a 1.0 econobox piece of cr*p!

It's so nice knowing you can drive fast and not have to fill up constantly. SOOOOO glad I went for the TDi !!!

My FR is on 18" wheels. When I had my golf it was originally standard (16") and I could get mid to high 40's but then I put 17" wheels on it and this dropped significantly. I look at it that if you want the car to look better it generally comes with a sacrifice! You show me other cars that do 0-60 in around 8 secs and do 40mpg. It'll dinkdankdo for me!!!!! :)

Just thought I'd bump this thread because I'm absolutely livid and need to rant.
I was just *FORCED* to get 52mpg out of my FR.[:@]

52mpg, with about 30 miles of twisty A road and 2.5 miles of urban 20/30mph congested city rubbish at each end. ~35miles in total.

I AM NOT HAVING A GOOD DAY!

Mind you, I guess it shows what you can get out of it if you (are forced to) drive like an utter bellend (very slow). Argh!

On 18s. Manchester to Hemel Hempstead to Stoke Mandeville. Currently 286miles on the ODO with just over half a tank left and reporting 280 miles to emtpy :)

Not bad, alot better than the Focus!

Managed 46mpg the other day on a comination of twisty country roads and motorway. Did help that about a quarter of the journey was stuck behind a mega slow white transit van on the twisty roads.

Only done about 3500miles so far in the car so still running it in!!

Does anyone else find that the tank range indicator after you reach half a tank drops much quicker than it does for the first half of the tank?

Just try not to do what I did when I got my new Leon...... play around with the trip computer and switch it to 'miles driven' rather than the 'fuel range'......

I was chugging along with the light on wondering why the MFD still said 100miles...... :cartman:

Fortunately I pulled into a petrol station to tank up, and I put in 54 odd litres....... if I remember correctly, the Leon has a 55 litre tank!!

Definately not doing something stupid like that again!

i have a leon fr it does around 480-500 miles on a full take which i think is good

Last week on my way to work, the tank range read 25 miles as I drove into the car park in the morning.

When I drove out of the car park, it dropped to 15 after 20 meters or so and by the time I was nearly home (a 9 mile trip) it was down to 5.

Thought I was going to run out on the way back for a while.

mine as done nearly 6k now stays steady around 39-40 to the gallon , had a little suzuki swift 1.5 petrol and i was lucky to get 30-32, i know which i prefer :)
