New Car? What would you buy with 8-10k?

Been thinking recently that i want a car with abit more GO, and with my 25th coming up what better excuse to to splash around 8-10k on a new car. Id like to get peoples view on what they would buy as theres alot of choice and i cant really decide. Basicly theres just me and the miss`s so i havent got to worry about kids or being practical. MPG isnt a issue but i dont want something that needs to be serviced every 2k miles lol..... Im kinda swayed by the idea of a lotus elise or a boggled eyed scooby at the moment. But please throw in your 2 pennies worth!

Ever driven a Honda S2000? they are brilliant, but not the fastest thing in the world.

Dont get a subaru, just too common, unless you go P1 but thats the classic shape.

Lotus elise are good fun, but the onei drove wasn't good, it was on the forecourt at top money, i took it out for a blast to find the headlights didn't work, indicators were faulty, the bonnet kept popping open, and then when it started to rain, the water just ran inside the car very quickly.

Thats my only experience with a elise and it wasn't good, but VX220 on the other hand was very very good.

Integrales are wicked, but so true that trying to find a good one is very hard. There are probably 5 sh1t ones for every 1 half decent one. I had a white one as well but much preferred red:

Hmm there very nice but im looking for somthing abit newer than that, I was also looking at vx220`s, shame the turbo isnt in my budget and the insurance

similar budget to what I'll have at the end of the year, have started ruling out my old favs e.g. M3, skyline, evo maki ed or P1,

now i'm considering the DC5 Integra Type R and can pick them up for 10k with good mileage. not gonna be much quicker in a straight line but they are so solid around corners and sound awesome. reliability is another level and build quality is much better than the mk3 ibiza. the recaros are fantastic!

there was a nice one in gloucester a couple of weeks back , had a 150,000 miles though , looked and drove immaculate though , u wouldnt of ever thought it had done that sort of miles , looked like it had done 60,000

My mate has a scooby and he is on his 4th engine , he has had the car for a year and a half , IMO i wouldnt buy a scooby unless it was a p1 , and if u buy a p1 make sure it has had a engine rebuilb , as you have to rebuild the engine every 60,000 , as they starve there self of oil when they hit that milage , buy an evo , best car for money , got everything , great handling , quick , and easily tunable , or you could pick a s3 up cheap enough , payed 8k for mine a month ago , and already spent well over £2500 on it

Was going mention integra dc5 as my brother has just brought one couple of weeks ago-t**t not just me now with a good car in the family, lol. Had a drive and it was quick put a rate big smile on me face, awesome to drive, capable of 165mph too! Just ova 10k for it with 27k on clock...sorry to blab on tho

was it like a dark blue purple colour ? my brother looks after one in this area thats has had SHED loads of cash spent on it and is very well looked after by the guy . last time it was in the owner cancelled his honeymoon to pay for it his new wife wasn't too amused i can tell ya - £5 says it's for sale due to honeymoon

I sold the 1st one as I was racking up the miles and was a shame to do it to such a beatiful car, sold it to a friend of mine and the same night I sold it - it ended up like this:

It was repaired at a cost of 7k and sold on to another friend of mine, and 1yr later was stolen from a pub car park and winded up burned out in a field.

Sold my 2nd one again due to clocking up miles too quickly. The red one only had just under 30k on it and was racking up quick so sold it at a healthy profit before it started loosing money.
They are also extremely thirsty and return about 150 miles to £45 of juice when chipped.. Plus I have a westfield as my toy car so use that for adrenaline buzz and what ever other car I have at the time for general getting about in etc, so the integrale was a bit too much of a strain to use for this, constant worrying about it etc
