Hey guys

I have done a search for this, but I couldn't find anything. Apologies if it does exist but I'm just being a div and missed it!

I've got this problem (note massive gaps at bonnet)..

and I think it's because some of these wee clips are missing...

I have no idea whether these clips are special, or just your standard plastic thing. I have a feeling I'll have to take it to a Seat Dealer to identify them, but I just thought I'd check just to see if anyone had any knowledge about them first

Cheers
Nick

Yes I can give you the part number for them. But one question, is your black grille attached to your bumper, or loose?

I just had a look, and it does appear to be attached at the bottom to the bumper. I think it's glued or something, but it looks like it's all one piece of plastic that makes up the little grille surrounding the S and the other two grilles to the sides.

Cheers for the part number :)

Are the two bits of your bumper that are either side of the middle grille too far out (forward) as well as being too low?

Nope I don't think so.... perhaps if I dud manage to pull them up into position they might be sitting a couple of mm out. What would it mean if they are? (just in case I happen to be wrong)

and i agree the grill doesnt look too well attached to the bumper...

Hmmmm, I think it may have been in an accident and bits were not quite put back on straight before I got it.
For instance I can fit my little finger between the passenger's side headlight and the pointy bit at the end of the front wing where it meets the bonnet, but I can't on the driver's side.

I was just curious because mine is fitting like yours at the moment - and it protudes forward. I have the split rivets in, but my grill is loose. The reason mine is odd is that my bumper doesn't fit properly over the intercooler I've fitted - so I was just trying to establish if your bumper was not on right. Sounds like it's ok

You can adjust your bonnet height on the front corners by screwing the rubber feet (underneath) in or out. :)

You reckon your bonnet front edge sits right, but your grilles and bumper sit low?

I think this might be the case with me, as I don't think the clips will pull the edge up enough to meet the bonnet properly. I'll have a play with those rubber feet you mentioned though, I had no idea they even existed :)

Crash bumper underneath could be slightly out of shape and not allowing the bumper to sit right.

Well I ordered those clippy things today, but I had to drive nearly 40 miles round trip to order, and I've got to do the same tomorrow to pick them up! 80 miles for 67 pence worth of plastic.... oh well, hope it works!

Oh no! I'll have to go and have a look for a scrapyard or something. failing that, does anyone know the part number - or can point me to that schematic showing all the bits of the engine bay?

Cheers

When I went to pick up these clips today, I got the guy to have a quick look at my front end. He reckons the whole thing isn't sitting right, so I should take the bumper off and re-align it correctly to solve my problem.

I've had a look at the bumper removal guide and it looks pretty simple. I'd say I'm inexperienced at this kind of thing, but it looks do-able so I might give it a crack tomorrow when it's not raining
