Hi Guys new owner here need some advice

Just got my first Cupra R and a plat grey 225 bhp.... all i can say is ow my god what a great car as soon as i picked it up and put my foot on the pedal ive had a big grin on my face...
but i must say that the wipers do let the looks down both front and back so what im asking is is there any other wipers which will do the trick , i have looked through the forums and what i can gather the the Scoda fadia looks the best ... correct me if im wrong???? but do they fit striaght on with out to much fuss???
also i would like to de-badge the seat logo of the front bonnet can that be done without wrecking the grill.....

Hi, Welcome to the forum,

I've recently upgraded the fronts, to blade wipers, the sort that you get on all the newer style VAG group cars, i got a set of bosch ones of the internet (i'm sure someone has got the link) which work Much better than the standard style blades.

I would say that the fabia rear wiper arm and blade are one of the most popular mods for the Leon, there are loads of threads on here about them, i haven't yet done this mod, but have seen plenty of pics and it looks much better. And lets be fair it can't work any worse than the orginal one !!

I understand de-badging the from of an LCR is not an easy or popular mod, someone please correct me if i'm wrong.......

Fabia is the modders choice for the rear.
A lot of people go for aero wipers on the front.

Did a quick search for you and its come up with a lot! so, in theory this link should work but if not, search for aero wipers under leon mk1 forum.

Changing the rear wiper to a Fabia one is a quick and easy mod. It works much better than the standard wiper and looks much better.

Hasnt somebody recently come up with an alternative to the fabia rear wiper, Im sure I read it the other day but cant remember and really dont want to do a search as ill be trawling through fabia wiper posts for days. If anyone can remember or knows can you let us know too, cheers.

If we're thinking about the same thing, it'll be the Toureg rear wiper

Cupra-R badge is easy to change over...the original badge only clicks into the panel (the amount of bother I had trying to get mine to click in :L) but when ordering a de-badged grill make sure it is for the LCR because ive seen loads of de-badged grills that is for the lower model Leons and they will definitely not fit!! the LCR badge is slightly tilted and is much smaller!!

Do those front wipers look alot better??...my original wipers are wrecked from people putting the wipers up when my car is parked up somewere and as a result they are now RUBBISH!!...has anyone got a picture of these other wipers actually on their car??

also whats the short shifter ... well i think i know its to do with gear changing but is there a link anywhere i can get a link to a place which do them..... and r they a good mod to put on the car and worth it....sorry ive have looked on the forums but not seen a link

Standard wipers are **** in general the aero, toureg and fabia ones are all an improvement.

Forge are the best peeps for a short shifter. Contact them via the forums and get a 10% discount.
It reduces the throw of the gear lever (up/down) you can also get a side to side one. I've not used one but if makes it anything like the gear boxes in the new Leons then it's a good mod.
