Im paying £800 TPFT 22year old with a 5mth ban in 2004 for speeding on my 2.0 16v. Excess is £300 with Brentacre In Swansea. That however includes mods as im preparing a road rally car so long as I dont make to many power mods, filters, exhausts and stuff all ok though.

I'm on my mum's insurance.

Uber cheap. Was 1000 TPTF last year when I'd just passed my test at 17. And now I'm 18 with 1 years NCB it has dropped to 700 TPFT :)

Still get NCB, albeit only if I stick with Elephant. Which, to be honest, I intend to do.

I'd say go fully comp! At the end of the day, you're gonna be protecting your prized asset and your fave mode of transport. Have a big knock while you're TPFT, you could be left with a potentially crippling bill...

is everyone adding the charge that they add to pay monthly too? lol, grrr!! all adds up. or are ppl paying it in full?

If i remember mine was about £600ish plus the interest for paying monthly took it to £700. My car so i pay to insure it and being a student can't afford to pay it off in one go.
There are afew companies that were offering no extra cost for paying over the year, such as virgin, direct line and i think more than. But with some of them the excess was stupid like £600 (direct line) and they didn't offer tp any car insurance for me. My policy at the moment wasn't the cheapest, infact was about £50 more than the cheapest quote but im insured on any car albeit third party.

Also (and ive only heard) when filling in the application form saying things like your married all help to lower the premium. Apparently if your married your less likely to have an accident??? Go figure. lol

I pay about £750 a year. No accidents. No no claims (various reasons) 21 year old. Driving for 4years.

Then again, these posts are as pointless as Michael Jackson at a child protection meeting, the quotes vary obscenely from one person/road to another let alone a complete different county/city

That's also fraud! If you DO have an accident and they go through the paperwork, they WILL find out, and you will be stitched up! It's bad enough when your honest with them, they always seem to find something that makes the insurance void; so don't make their work easier for them!

I dont know how the hell I managed it, but my old 16v was £480 a year fully comp and protected no claims at 21! The difference between TPFT & FC was only £22!

My Cordy SX 16v was only £690 at 20, but I did set the miles down to 2k a year on that.
