Hi folks i have tried the search function but im am not coming up with anything for my ibiza cupra mk3.

I need to replace my passenger side dipped bulb as it apperas to have blown. There are a lot of guides on how to do this on a mk4 but cant find any guides for my mk3. (Bi-Focal light by the way)

I think its pathetic that Seat have designed these lights so that you have to go to a dealer to get a bulb replaced. I cant get anywhere near the bulbs as the battery is in the way.

Any guides or help would be much appreciated as my "Local" Seat dealer is 50 miles away!

Thanks

Daz

yep just the bolts at the base plate and umm yeah...cant remeber if you can undo it and slide the battery back a bit or if you have to take it out completely though. You should try replacing them on a Passat grrr!!

I found taking the battery out hell of alot easier than messing about with it in.

Whats the big deal about disconnecting it?

ok thanks. Supposidly you have to re-programme the electric windows so that the automatic function works again. so it says in the manual anyway!

I've never had to play with the electric windows to make the automatic thing work again...I left the battery disconnected for quite a few hours plugged it back in and everything was as it was apart from the MPG etc

I managed to change my bulbs last weekend without having to remove the battery. Its a bit fiddely but you can do it.

You just flick the clips off, then slide the cover off towards the side, then you can reach in to the bulbs.

Also, if you do take batt out, it only resets time & date (which will automatically come back through RDS when you switch the radio on) and trip counters. (it does reset some other ECU stuff too but you dont need to worry about that). Windows should be fine.

Yeh I wouldn't go to the bother of taking the battery out. I managed without having to (doubt it's any different in the 1.4).

If you do take the battery out don't worry about it effing up your electrics. I had mine out for ages fiddling with installing my AMP and it was A ok! Even though mine doesn't have that many electrical eminities (sp.)

However, Within 24hrs of me getting my new car, the aerial has been half inched by some F**king theiveing scum bag - these lowlifes make me soooo angry!
