Is the connection between the needle and the clock itself ok - it could be that the clock's turning but the needle's slipping - just an idea

unlikley, when i removed the needles, they are very tight to remove. Have you check on vag.com what speed the car is showing?

got the same issue mate, how did you find the broken wire and where was it??
checked my speed using the climate control screen (shows it in kph) and needle is def not loose.
cheers

cheers, dont have any idea of the root the wire takes do you. I wouldnt know where to start in looking for the wire. I have a replacement clocks but dont wanna change them yet if i can sort the wire (much less hassle)

:D fair play very good fella LMAO, must have some german in you if your into speedos. Bet there is a fresh towel in your bathroom at 5 every morning aswell :D

not sure if anyone knows where the speedo wire is routed so i can do a little investigation and see if i can find the prob. Everything else on the dials is working eccept the speedo itself. Any info would be great
