Will these kits work on the Leon II Cupra?

We have a remap on the car (295Hp) but my brother needs more power

Any ideas which kit would work on this engine to take it to 370-380?

Thanks

Rob

Jim's TT produces well over 400bhp using the APR 2871R kit.

The APR kit is the complete article map injectors fuel pump etc etc all made to work together. This kit is a quality article and is designed to work in harmony and is engineered especially the important part's to a very high degree. It has been well proven for many years.

I know Awesome aren't stocking ATP kit's due to 'issues'. I'd speak to them direct.

If were me knowing what the kit produces on the road and the substantial investment involved I know what kit I'd be thinking about investing in APR!!

I think the VF engineering/GIAC is the best choice due to its two options/upgrade path. I'd go for that on my car.

I know you're a big Awesome and APR fan Ian, I'm just reading the figures off the respective sites. Quality-wise yes APR are very good, but they are also very expensive too.

Rob it's bit like your preference for Star Perfomance! Have they stopped running the Eliminator kits?? Awesome has stopped selling them. I thought Jim at Star was back selling Millford Micro systems software?? ie Geoff Everett ex AmD?

As for APR kit the only reason I waited for the 'kit' was the reviews in the US and on Vortex and reference to the quality made by other tuning companies including Garrett who assisted APR.

I priced up all of the European 'complete' kits and apart from Jabba's IHI kit's were alot more expensive and some of which were using older turbo technology.

I priced up Sportec, MTM and ABT kit's all of which were in the region of £10k fitted!! Another benefit overlooked with the APR kit is the switchable performance and fuel programs on stage 3. You can use normal U/L to Race fuel on prog 4.

I am a bit new to this Big Turbo Step, so from what i read i understand that with the APR StgIII you dont need to replace engine internals, and with it I can achieve the 370+ HP we have as a target?

Whats the disadvantages (apart from the price :-o )

Thanks

Do we know yet what the limits are on the 2.0T?

I assume that APR have it right again, and their kit produces just under the limit...

On their site it says anything more than 380ish requires uprated internals, well it actually says if your going to use higher octane fuel the interansl will need uprating!

I forgot this thread is for the 2.0TFSI

I thought you had, I was being subtle :D

Easy Ian, didn't mean anything by it, APR have always been better quality than ATP but are also alot more expensive too. I like APR stuff but APR have ignored the RHD market for such a long time, they couldn't care less about the UK. Star dropped them because of this (I think).

Jim doesn't do the FWD GTRS and GT2871R Elims anymore due to the inlet issues, still does the FWD GT2X and Quattro Elims though. He does GIAC and VF stuff now too, plus his own custom mapping. He has the 2.0TFSi GIAC/VF 340bhp kit for his Leon now.

In the last year I've been up to Star twice, once for a dyno run and once to have a Piper exhaust fitted, that's it!

I'm sure you didn't Rob.

Yeah APR ain't the cheapest but none of the kits are cheap unless DIY'ing!

I'm not in a position to DIY therefore I had to pay extra for the labour but at least the job was done to a high standard by Awesome.
I'm now in the process of rebuilding with a friend at end of January. Hopefully this will give added security of stronger internals and it will be good for another 100k. AT least I can then fit the APR inlet manifold and R32 throttle body.

Ian you not selling the car now??

As for the limits of the standard 2.0T 200ps engine.

VF/Giac say 300 @ the wheels is the max for the rods. Their RSS kit doing 340bhp is designed with this in mind (runs 1.4 bar boost)

Their RSR kit does 400+ @ the wheels and uses forged rods and pistons. Runs 2.2 bar boost.

But then APR releases this kit, 380bhp @ the fly they say, and say it is reliable with standard internals!!!!

Don't know who to believe really. Interesting that the APR kit runs same boost I think as the VF/GIAC RSS kit and but it produces quite a bit more bhp. Hmmm.
