I hate to say it, but i reckon you may regret going from the Cupra Tdi to Cupra Petrol, In my opinion the Cupra Tdi cost aside is the best of the both of em. It just gives you the best of both worlds, and seriously holds money better too. I noticed the other day there are couple of 1.8T 2004 Cupra's touching the 7k mark now.

bt all personaly choice i suppose

WOW! 7K! - With the TDI I really think you get the best of both worlds too along with Ant.

Yea there are PD160 Cupras going for the same price and is is more common to see people selling them than the 1.8Ts. Not sure if this means the petrol owners are happy so not selling or that there is alot of demand for the diesel ones!

I know the 1.8T doesn't feel the same to drive as the derv but I just prefer higher revving cars and less tractor noise :)

Just got home after picking up the car today and having driven 200 miles back home! I love the car, not quite as much poke as the PD160 had when accelerating but it just keeps on revving :)

Pics tomorrow if it stops raining for 5 mins..

Yea I mean when overtaking 30-70 kind of speeds. But now I have the remap, there's really not much in it plus you don't have to change gear 3 seconds later :p

nah don't want to start a debate, was thinking of going down the same route myself seeing that there touching 7k now! Do you miss the torque, cus some times it really annoys me. It's a bit saft that lunge that the dervs do:lol:

I miss the fuel bills :) But the sound is so much better and quieter. Plus still plenty of torque especially with remap.

Plus still plenty of torque .[/QUOTE said:
this is where derv drivers need to pay attention, the 20vt cupra engine develops plenty of torque for a little hatchback

more than the lower powered dervs might I add

cupra petrol = 180 lb ft
100 sport derv= 177 1b ft
130 fr derv= 220 lb ft
cupra derv= 240 lb ft

so for a petrol not to shabby at all on the torque :p

yep, only the TDI FR and Cupra have more torque than the 1.8T Cupra (pre-remap). The turbo on the 1.8T is there to provide the low-end torque and although it doesn't provide as much as the TDI, it lasts longer and decreases at a slower rate up through the revs.
