just out of interest and completely off topic, t.spark how have u got on with the cc map? ur car certainly looks pretty rapid is it well spread across the revs, as in not just a big dollop of torque all at once which will strip ur clutch. and also how does ur clutch cope? any slipping?
heard good things about cc and this is something i wanna do .......eventually lol

Thinking about it now it sounds like a wastegate chirp rather than a dumpvalve. What is causing the sound exactly?

leontdi130 just out of curiosity what power are you making?

not sure what power im looking at with mine, waiting to get to a rr day up in the north west some time. but my uncle has a 170 A3 and mine is quicker than his at less than half the price which he doesn't like. :funk:

i have beenforced to drive the mini to work tomorrow...certainly no wooshing from the 1.6!

yeah maybe, but i bet it can still be a giggle! a mate of mine had a 998cc mini and his bottom line for the car was "yeah, it's not that fast but you dont have to use the brakes"!!

:roflmao: Alright pretty boy! :gay: And the ride is harsh and the engine is gutless! And fuel economy is terrible! Enjoy! :D

How DARE you compare the proper Mini's to the modern day scum! (PROPER Mini owner you see! :D)

You can throw the old Mini into a corner at any speed and it'll stick! Was playing with a Mondeo ST200 once - yeh he smoked me in a straight line - but couldn't keep up in the corners! :D

I cant fault the c-c remap at all mate, plenty of torque, plenty of power and not just between 2-3k either, I normally take it to around 4.5k in lower gears for best results.

My standard clutch handled the power very well, with near on 300lb/ft the clutch lasted nearly 50,000 miles, a european rally, several trackdays, and over 13 runs down at santa pod before it died, id also point out it didnt die of clutch slip either, still had plenty of 'tread' as per say for many more 1000's of miles.

Anyway, since upgraded to a Helix uprated clutch and single mass flywheel. So doesnt have a problem with a mere 300lb/ft anymore ;)

There's summat wrong with my sisters car then! Tank was at a quarter when we left for Taunton - got back and it was half way between quarter and empty! :-o

My car does 80 miles and the needle doesnt move!

I must admit i do miss that clutch! I had it! I was REALLY strong and never one quivered. Just to SMF did my HEAD in! :(

I have done more "research in the field" and decided it's not the WOOOOOSH that makes people jump, it seems to be more the turbo whistle whilst boosting up, and the exhaust noise. It actually doesn't wooooosh too loud on gearchanges, which probably means I'm not losing excess boost somewhere, at least not a lot.

As in you used to have it in your PD130? What did you do with it? lol

How did the SMF do you HEAD in?!

I find its seems to have changed the power delivery, so its alot more smoother, seems less ragged, and almost slower, but I know its not slower due to speed test and dusting a MK4 Cupra D that was standard ;)

Sparky, have you got a recent clip of yours with the straight through exhaust done? I'm back in the market for this again and considering going up to MIJ in B'ham for the work.

you'll find plenty of vids of sparky's car further up the thread - sounds loud but nice.

You should've come to the southwest meet bud!

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=157802

yeah i wanna come along to one, found and read the thread just after the last/first? meet so if i'm avail for the next one might tag along. :)

also adding i've bought a green cotton panel filter which should be arriving today/tomoz will be fitting this maybe at the weekend but i'm considering modding the airbox a bit the maximise airflow. i'm not sure i'm gonna get a pd160 intake as tbh i'm not convinced they're gonna do much at all, as where it joins the airbox is exactly the same size as the original one..... may well look at smoothing inside the box and maybe cutting out the flap of plastic on the intake pipe tho....... my first mod..... he he :funk:

just got my filter, just read that its maybe not a good idea to smooth airbox as fins inside help prevent moisture getting in the engine - and tbh it seems as tho i'm probs not gonna feel any difference anyways by doing that....

I ran mine with no silencer at all for a week - living in a quiet street meant it had to be silenced :( However that's not a problem now and i'm considering a new DP to go with a 3" straight system - i can always refit the small silencer if it's too noisy.

Have you had a listern then? I live on a quiet street aswell, if I turn up late, I just coast it onto the street (its a small street) and then drop the engine asap, [yorkshire mode] B rEEt [/yorkshire mode]
