I have to post this, I would not buy replica wheels again .... too soft, too heavy and not made by reputable firms.

My RS6 ones are all out of shape, APS suspect that it's not just damage from potholes that has bent them, also the torque of the car has twisted them.

Going for Team Dynamics this time and should I change wheels in future, I would stick to branded makes that are of a known quality.

Interesting post Mr Fester. I wondered about the longevity of the replicas as they seem to flood the market now. Especially the RS6, 8 and A8 etc... wheels.
I'm pretty glad I didn't go for the new RS4's now. They still look good though.

RS6 18" are 16Kg .... the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 are 8.2Kg in the same size - that's a lot of difference on 4 wheels. Obviously i can only talk about the RS6 replicas, i don't know if other replicas are the same. Just something to bear in mind i guess. It's just cost me £930 inc delivery and 4 tyres for the new wheels, the RS6 were almost half that but now i need a second set ( admittedly that's almost 2 years and a hard drive) but it makes the TD ones a comparable cost, never mind weight or quality. They'll also make the wheels with the offset of your choice - no more spacers.

What colour have you gone for? and any of the new coloured lip ones?
Them customising the offset is pretty cool as well. Didn't know any wheel manufactures did that.

Anthracite - no polished lips or any of that - they don't fare well the way i drive. I wanted rid of the spacers and wanted a wheel that was balanced and cast in the offset that i needed - it seemed a no brainer when i sat down and thought about it. Ok you won't get replica looks but i'm not bothered about that, the wheels are as important as the brakes in my opinion and having bent one set partially due to suspect quality i'm not prepared to risk that again.

Where was it the the reps came from ? i know the Team D rims are decent as my uncle works there lol but if you search yourll find that a few have found broken spokes.

Interesting...I must admit I had my doubts about the replicas, but they do look nice. I've been watching your thread on the progress with your motor and it did look damn fine sitting on the RS6s, but as you say they are clearly cheap for a reason.
