nope, they are on the same switch, and when you turn them off, they are not fully off! it will still intevene if you try hard enough!

Anyone know if there's an aftermarket exhaust for LCRs that has a bypass valve - like the setup on Aston Vanquish, DB9 & Vantage V8 - so that it's quiet on the motorway but sounds like thunder when you floor it above, say, 4500rpm? :p

not that i can find anywhere! you could probably get one made up tho; there are some electric bypass valves about (switch it when you like, loud when on open road, quiet when near the police!)

there is a video on youtube somewhere of a euopean V6 cupra with one of these bypass exhausts fitted. it does sound nice but then again i've never heard a bad VR6.

The LCR isn't a cheap car to run. Get it remapped and drive it like it was intended, preferably with some softer high performance tyres and you'll be chewing through over £200 worth of fronts in ~8k (if you're lucky)

Fuel wise the LCR has a massive variation, driven gentley you can eek out mid thirties mpg, drive it hard and you'll get low twenties.

Tax, next year you'll be paying £400 a year. Oh and insurance, especially for a modded one isn't cheap.

But worth every penny:happy:

2009 Tax for LCR will go from around £210 to around £300.Its only £400 on vehicles which exceed 225g/km co2 emissions. It easy to get 30+mpg from LCR,but its also easy to get it below 20mpg if you want, its your choice.
Insurance is group 17 as standard so it aint never going to be cheap, but ive declared all my mods and its costing me around £500,i thought that was very good.

£500! Fully comp, I assume? Which insurance co is that with, & which part of the UK are you based? Ta

I'm with Greenlight Insurance and pay just over £500. I'm mid 30's full no claims and clean license. The cover I have includes any mods as well AND trackday cover although the excess shoots up to £1000!! I'm based in Cheshire.
