Is there such a thing?

I ask because I came within a few feet tonight of wiping myself out on the M56! The blind spots in the Leon are huge compared to my previous cars; certainly big enough to hide a Land Rover!

Previous cars of mine had a mirror with a bevelled end; is there one to fit a Leon?

ive done the same thing too, but nearly pulled out on a bike!

no leon fit mirror as far as i know.

yes ... it called a neck ....

Lean forwared in the seat, then twist neck to the right and peer out of the side window and the rear window if you are moving to the lane to the right of you, or, if you are moving to the left hand lane follow instructions above however twist your neck left and look out of left window and rear window.

:D

You could get a replacement mirror glass which is wide angle and cut to fit your mirror. For example, Here is something that came up on an interweb thing search I just did.

Or you could get a universal stick-on dome mirror to put over the end of your existing mirror glass, from a leading car accessory store.

There was a discussion on this a while back, I think that the early Leon's came with one, but they dropped it on later models.

That's in the Highway Code I believe.

Thank you for your useful suggestions, and your smart-arsed ones!

I've ordered one from "Save and Drive". I guess it didn't come up on Google when I searched because I speak English - I didn't think to search for "mirror's" (something belonging to the mirror, or a contraction of 'mirror is').

FYI, I do look over my shoulder, but I was pulling onto the motorway from a curved slip road, and immediately overtaking a dawdler in lane one. The angle of my approach must have obscured the Land Rover behind the rear pillar.

Glad the link was of use.
I use Metacrawler for my searches as it "searches the best results from the combined pool of the world's leading search engines -- instead of results from only one single search engine". I typed in replacement door mirror glass uk as the keywords.

Doesn't that link only show glass for the MK1 leon? ie. the '03 on' is for the teardrop facelift mirrors, not the MK2.

The standard door mirrors are convex/wide angle aren't they? Things look a bit further away than they should. I think there's a comment in the manual about it and that's the impression I get from using them.

If I'm changing lanes on the motorway I always glance over my shoulder anyway, had a couple of nasty experiences, even with supposed blind spot morrors.
